(Update) this is the third time I buying this rust remover. And I have been satisfied with so far. Very fast and easy. I use it for restoration projects, and it removes the rust amazingly fast. Im very pleased. And it is cheaper than anywhere else.

During a recent motorcycle restoration project I tried many different products to remove rust from various surfaces. Hands down, Evapo-Rust was the best at removing all rust from all surfaces. It’s an all around excellent product, highly recommend!

Worked great. Let tools and rusty gun parts soak for 24 hours and it completely cleared all rust.

I had reservations about using this. I am restoring an old motorcycle that has plenty of rust. Y’all, this works. It removed deeply rusted parts without damaging them. I was beyond impressed! A few pro tips: 1. Evapo-rust is reusable. So didn’t discard the liquid after using it unless it’s completely spend. Instead, funnel it back into the original container to prolong use. 2. If you need to remove fuse off of an item that won’t fit on a container, soak towels (I used Scott’s shop towels) in the solution and wrap it around whatever you need to derust. I thought I made a huge mistake because I accidentally left a rust motorcycle part in the solution for far longer than suggested (total of 48 hours) because I forgot I put it in. However, this piece was very rust anyway. Nonetheless, no damage was done and the metal looks great now without discoloration.

I didnt think it would work. I tried on some tools that had gotten dunked in saltwater and overlooked for a good while. Items were so crusted I almost tossed them. Figured I could afford under $20 to try it... Ill be damned, it worked! Tried on old ball peen hammers, it worked. Tried on old sockets and wrenches, it worked. Tried on some very old taps hid in the back of a drawer, it worked. Old vernier calipers, did it. Ive used this on just about every tool in my shop, and it works. Maybe not in the 2-3 hours on the label, but an 8 hour soak it works. Had some of grandads old tools that havent seen light in 30 years, soaked for a week and they look good. It wants to have temps around 70F, but it works into the 30F range, just slower. I did place some stuff on a rack in front of a torpedo heater to transfer heat to the solution, it worked pretty well but evaporated some of the chemical off in the process. I added some bottled water and topped off. It does degrade over use, and quickly if you dont degrease tools first.

as advertised, but gradually losing its effectiveness. Items needed to be soaked longer to get cleaned and of course it is no miracle. Stubborn rust still needed to be brushed and sanded off. Afterward, cleaned items will need to be oiled to prevent rust from setting back in. Great for small items that you can soak.

I bought it based on the YT video by Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame. It is NOT a quick fix for your rusted parts. But, it DOES work.

I use this stuff on every rusty part I get my hands on!! Works best warn, I have noticed [room temp., as opposed to overnight outside.] Clean the part as best you can speeds derusting time, as well. I was trying to press out a stuck bearing out of a old, rusty steering knuckle that would not budge with 50 tons of press pressure!! Tried oils, heating and nothing!! soaked overnight outside in evapo-rust and the bearing move a little. then, soaked overnight again in my shop. The next day one bearing came out by hand, the other with a light pressing. I liked Evapo-Rust before, that press sold me!! Now, I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

Was skeptical when purchased. Sounded too good to be true. However was amazed at how good it worked. Placed part in $1.00 aluminum baking pan and covered part with solution. I thought I would see some type of reaction, bubbles or something, but nothing. So, I left it sit overnight and when I looked at part the next day, still so no change so I took a small screwdriver and touched some of the rust and the rust floated off the part. So took a small brush to the part, with little effort, and all the rust came off. Truly amazing. Bare, clean part, ready for painting. Highly recommend.

I have been using this product for a good 5 years in rebuilding old cars. It can tackle the toughest rust. Best to let the part(s) soak overnight. Always has good results.
