Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 Color Mobile Scanner

I have owned, and still use, other scanners, but this one is the best for a small business. Quick to setup and use. So far it has worked perfectly, which is amazing in this throwaway society.

Awesome product. Liked it so much, I bought a second one so I have one at home and office.

I have had this scanner for over a year now. Here is my take on it. PROS: 1) Takes up little real estate on your desk and is small enough to travel with a laptop. 2) Even though it just takes about 10 sheets at a time, it is very easy to keep longer documents together. 3) I use it for my business which is being a virtual assistant for real estate agents so you can imagine how much paperwork can be scanned: a) Everything turns out straight (unlike some of the faxes and scans I get from other parties) b) As long as the original is clear the scan is clear. c) OCR has worked great (I always have it on just in case I have to find something quickly in a document later). D) Have had it since April 2009 and have not had to replace anything (suggestion: unless in use keep it closed to keep dirt and dust out.) CONS: 1) Was transferring to a different office location and lost the installation software. (I dont use the cabinet feature). Customer service was horrible in their response to my dilemma. Wanted proof of ownership even when I said I would pay for it (okay how many of you keep receipts handy thats over a year old?). Luckily I was able to find someone with the software. 2) Would not recommend for a computer phobic. You need to be comfortable working with hardware because there is not real training provided for this (instruction were lacking). BOTTOM LINE: For the price; size; durable; medium use, I highly recommend the product.

This is an outstanding scanner. It really lives up to its name as it makes scanning a snap. The Scansnaps software is very user friendly, making it very simple to adjust things such as file type (JPEG vs. PDF) or scanning level. I also like how the Scansnap can scan both sides of a document or photo. The archiving systems also seems like it works quite well. The Fujitsu Scansnap is easy to setup and easy to use. I highly recommend it. FOR MAC USERS I made the mistake of assuming that the Fujitsu Scansnap would also work with a Mac. These days most things work easily with Mac, not the Fujitsu. Actually the Scansnap works nicely while I run Windows XP Pro on Parallels. The good news for Mac Users is that Fujitsu now makes a Scansnap for Mac. The bad news is that its going to cost over $50 more! Apparently the different color and MacOS-specific software justifies the extra cost.

I have owned a number of scanners in my lifetime and this scanner is by leaps and bounds the best one I ever used. This was surely a great investment.

I honestly recommend this scanner to person who want compact one. Save your space on the desk! You can use it after installation of the attached software easily.

I have been using another scanner for years to download files during client meetings. It would not work with my new 64 bit machine. I was forced to buy the ScanSnap. It is faster, easier, and even fun to use. I have had no problems and scan documents, color and B&W photos, duplex documents and documents of various sizes, all at the same time. I now look forward to scanning in piles of documents. Just open it up and it turns on. Load the docuemts in the feeder and hit scan. All the documents shoot through in about 2 seconds a document, for both sides, in color, right side up, and create a PDF or JPG file. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I have rarely been this excited and pleased with a piece of electronic equipment. This is, without doubt, one of the best office machine purchases I have ever made. ScanSnap was a snap to set up and start using. It occupies otherwise unusable space on my desk, is simple to use (insert document, press button) and has worked flawlessly thus far. Ive tested on color photos as well. 5x7 scanned to a 152kb PDF file and looks great. Business card scanning software works well too. If I need to copy a document, I can scan and print right from my desk. If I need to scan and email, piece-of-cake two step process. Scan and store, just as simply. Only draw back is less exercise. No more trips to the central copy/fax/scanner to run a couple page job for me! Best feature? It is small and light enough for me to carry along on road trips and can be powered from my notebook computers USB port. With this, my notebook PC, portable printer and mobile broadband dongle I can load up the RV and still be a complete office almost anywhere.

I scan all relevant documets with this scanner into pdf files. It is fast, easy-to-use, and rare paper jams are very easy to fix. I am 100% satisfied with the product.

I just love this scanner. I like that it is compact, fast and lightweight. I use this scanner at home and at work. Its very easy to use. The scanned documents come out very clear. The software makes it easy to delete pages and save your documents.
