This card game is awesome for kids learning values of numbers, probability, and love to just have fun. My son started playing it with me when he was 4 and hes now 5 and he still loves the game. We even bought one for his class at school for indoor recess. He now wants to buy it for friend birthdays. He is getting good at adding and without him knowing his probability skills are growing each time he plays.

I bought this game because I heard from multiple people that their kids loved it. My 12, 9, and 4 year olds all enjoyed it (quite a feat), and my 4-year-old learned to add multiple numbers together because of it. I have since bought it as gifts several times. I definitely recommend this game!

I had no luck looking for a new copy of this game locally, so I was thrilled to find it available from Amazon. My kids absolutely loved this card game while growing up, and sometimes they still play it. I purchased this new copy for my girlfriends daughter. Its easy to play with any number of players and makes you think and strategize, but is easy for younger kids to play as well.

After having this game for a year, I give it a thumbs up. My youngest son received this gift last Christmas and we have all played it many, many times. Its good to get kids thinking strategy. My little one continually beats me! Its fun and its one of those games that you can take on road trips because you can take cards almost anywhere.

It"s never too early to develop a good poker face. With Rat-a-Tat Cat, a poker face is just one of the skills players need to perfect. As in poker, luck, skill, strategy, and intuition each play a part. Players are dealt four cards, which are kept face- down, except for a quick peek at two of them. Each player in turn pulls a card from the draw pile to replace one of the four. Memory is important, as the object is to end with the lowest score, and players must keep track of the values on their four cards. "Peek," "Swap," and "Draw Two" Power cards turn up occasionally, allowing players to maneuver and strategize further. Delightfully witty pictures of cats (the good guys--low points) and rats (bad guys--high points) illustrate each of the 54 cards. Young card sharks will develop a sense of timing and greater ease with numbers, and can begin to grasp the concept of probability. Winner of Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Best Toy Award and the 1996 Mensa Best New Mind Game. For 2 to 6 players. --Emilie Coulter
