Our Genie garage-door opener is more than twelve years old. Over the years weve tried to keep the sensors clean and aligned, but at last one of them cracked and could not be fixed. These are the replacements, much sleeker than the boxy originals. Once I had disconnected the power from the motor (easy, just unplug it from the overhead socket), it took me about twenty minutes, total, to install them. Im no handyman, but the instructions are clear and simple, the wiring is easy, and really the only tools one needs are a ruler and a Philips-head screwdriver. I reconnected, the left one showed a red light, the right one a green, just as they were supposed to, and then I tried opening and closing the garage doors with the keypad, the wall controller, and my fob. They all worked. No more opening but failure to close, no more manual closing, no more fussing with two units that simply had outlived their effectiveness. For a klutz to be able to do this was wonderful, and it put me in a good mood. Recommended!

We had a flood this spring which damaged our original Genie safety beam sensors. The garage door would not close. I ordered these replacement sensors. They arrived ahead of scheduled delivery date, which was nice. They are very simple to install. The mounting brackets have same screw locations as originals. Simply unscrewed old sensors from garage door frame then attached the new sensors in the same location. Just 2 wires on each sensor to hook up and it doesnt matter which terminal you put them on. Total installation time was about 15 minutes and they work perfectly. Have yet to test them for sensitivity to sunlight. I am told these new ones are better when it comes to sunlight sensitivity. So far great product.

Works great! The sensor eyes were extremely easy to line up. The safety beams work better than I expected it would. I would recommend this to someone else.
