I like the bronze fine wool pads. I dont have to worry about them rusting.

I bought this to clean household windows because I noticed that the professionals do use 0000 steel wool, Not bronze wool but steel. However Im not sure what kind (brand) they use but all the seel I have used have rusted within one hour so I switched to this bronze. The Pros told me NOT to push (rub) too hard or you can leave scratches. I finished my parents house and I did notice some scratches however I am not sure if it was me or someone else. The house is 30 years old. My advice is to test a window or two and not the main living room windows, first. This product did not specifically say that its #0000. This troubles me a bit. I would recommend it but not guarantee against any or all scratches. I would call a pro, Im going to, and find out what exactly they use before I buy any more wool.

Obviously, there is not much to review here. This is the bronze version of steel wool. I purchased it to aid in cleaning deposits from the chambers and barrels of revolvers. The metal is quite softer than the steel it impacts, and so will do no damage to it. Visually the product looks very consistent, but it is a simple product for use as a mild abrasive on hard surfaces.

Shed fibers like crazy. Whatever youre doing with it, youll spend as much time cleaning up all the shrapnel as whatever youre working on.

Bought this because I have an old 22 cal. revolver that someone gave me years ago that I had just tossed in a drawer....Found it one day, and it was all covered with surface rust...Not the deep pitting kind, just heavy outside rust. Got a lot of advise on how to get the rust off, but because of expense, I decided to do the job myself......All of the steel wool I have ever used was a royal pain in the butt...fine metal shavings everywhere, doesnt hold up, and of course the horrible rust it gets after you leave it in your tool box. Got this item and it was just what I needed...Took my time rubbing the metal parts of the revolver, and didnt get any shavings or metal dust as I would have with the steel wool.....It also seems to hold up better that the steel version......When I was done, the revolver looked like a different weapon......All the rust gone, and no metal residue left on it and inside the mechanism. Looked around everywhere to try to purchase it locally (wanted it in a hurry), but couldnt find it....In conclusion, there is no comaprison between this Bronze Wool, and regular steel wool. I live in Florida near the water, and EVERYTHING made of metal rusts....When I would use regular steel wool on anything, it left a mess and I would have to throw it away afterwards, because if it got wet it would turn into a blob of rust....Not with this bronze wool. It is expensive, but more than worth the price.....I can actually rinse it off from use, and it can be used again....In the long run, the cost is comparable because you arent throwing the pad out after every use. My only complaint is that I couldnt get different sizes. Oh, and by the way, you dont get the little metal slivers in your fingers like you get with the steel wool.

The pads are thin and break up easily. The last time I bought bronze wool it was well worth the money as the pads were hefty and really lasted. I used one pad up really quickly oil buffing a door handle and thumb latch. The finished product is awesome so my idea an technique were fine but the disintegrating pad and fine bronze particles were kind of a pain but wiped up easily. The other two I used up rapidly cleaning ceramic tiles. Again the tiles are great. But the pads were gone very fast.

This was perfect to gently remove rust on parts that have a surface finish, like bluing. It also worked well to smooth down any overly textured piece of Cerakoted metal, like a rough edge or a piece that somehow ended up with a noticeable texture from fingerprints.

I had heard about using steel wool for cleaning water spots and hard debris on your windshield. At the same time I have heard of micro scratches and tiny bits left over that can rust and smear on your windshield. My solution was bronze wool, softer than steel and doesnt rust, and I am happy to say it worked perfectly! Water spots and wiper marks that are around 10years old are no longer visible. Other than a tiny crack (from a rock) my windshield looks brand new. I would recommend!
