Leaves broken strands behind, otherwise id very good.

Worked perfectly to turn a piece of flat wood into a masterpiece. Took every little ding out of the wood with not very much effort. You can sand wood various ways, but often have a few marks that you just can not eliminate. This product will give a very perfect finish on the wood. Removes fine scratches. Sure it has its limits. You can not fix everything.

Works fine but it sheds fibers pretty bad and the pads tend to fall apart pretty easily. Bought to clean light rust from rifle barrel and it worked fine for that.

The best for polishing chrome!

I use Bronze wool when cleaning antique or collectible items. It is abrasive enough to clean and polish, but not course like Steel Wool, so it does not easily scratch an item or remove a plated finish.

Excellent for cleaning Guitar frets, de-glossing fretboards and backs of guitar necks. Unlike steel wool, brass wool is not magnetic, so will not fowl your pickups...no masking required to cleaning fret wires during restring! Be advised, it is Fine but not Super Fine as 0000 Steel Wool, so use very light pressure on wood and poly if de-glossing.

does what it is designed to do, clean without scratching chrome

The pads are thin and break up easily. The last time I bought bronze wool it was well worth the money as the pads were hefty and really lasted. I used one pad up really quickly oil buffing a door handle and thumb latch. The finished product is awesome so my idea an technique were fine but the disintegrating pad and fine bronze particles were kind of a pain but wiped up easily. The other two I used up rapidly cleaning ceramic tiles. Again the tiles are great. But the pads were gone very fast.

Used to remove rust from a blued gun barrel. Worked great.
