> 3 dayThis was perfect for removing hard to remove rust from a semi-soft metal item that I didnt want to scratch. Between this and #0000 steel wool I was able to remove 90% of the rust. There are still a few rough spots that are really rusted but I had no visible scratches even after hard scrubbing. It also holds up for a while when using.

> 3 dayPurchased to remove light rust from collectable firearms it has done other jobs as well. Used with some gun oil I was able to dramatically improve the barrel appearance on two rifles one being made in 1902. I was able to use some elbow grease without destroying the original bluing. The other was only 30 yo it was a premium gun when made with high gloss bluing. My gal noticed the improvement and friends were impressed. Encouraged by good results I tackled and new Marlin rifle with a laminated wood stock. Starting with the barrel it got a light buffung with oil and turned out nice. Next the stock was worked with some of this dry. Starting cautiously it ended up getting a serious rubbing. The wood aquired a nice smooth finish with a slight gloss. All the fine scratches and small specks were removed with some work. This stuff does shed a lot of small particles especially when used dry and really trashed my gun mat. The particles getting stuck in the nap. My gal now uses it on her jewelry.

Greater than one weekBest thing Ive found to get the best finish on woodwork or decorative metal I can get. And the great part is less metal fillings and no rusting bits left to discolor the workpiece. This has replaced all steel wool and some sandpaper grits for my purposes

> 3 dayI used this with oil to remove rust from a WWII Kar 98k bolt. The rust was in the contours under the gas shield where a brush would not reach well. I got the rust easily with a little bit of this and some oil. Did not harm the 70+ year old bluing.

> 3 dayBronze wool is what you want to use instead of steel wool, especially when working with firearms because the bronze is softer than the steel the firearm is made from, so no scratches or rust from pieces of steel wool that break off and are left behind. I used the bronze wool to remove rust and corrosion from the guns and then applied oil to prevent further damage. A single pad lasts quite awhile and this produces really amazing results!

Greater than one weekBronze wool is the only thing to use in certain circumstances. And this stuff works great for those times when steel wool wont work very well, or is otherwise unsuitable.

> 3 dayObviously, there is not much to review here. This is the bronze version of steel wool. I purchased it to aid in cleaning deposits from the chambers and barrels of revolvers. The metal is quite softer than the steel it impacts, and so will do no damage to it. Visually the product looks very consistent, but it is a simple product for use as a mild abrasive on hard surfaces.

> 3 dayI hate working with steel wool because it rusts so quickly. If youre using steel wool to remove the finish on wood, little bits of rusty steel can get into the wood and ruin the surface. I was very excited to find out that there was such as thing as bronze wool and immediately bought some to try. Ive used it in my furniture refinishing projects for several months now and also to remove rust on metal. Ive also started using it in place of kitchen steel wool pads, which become quickly become too rusty to use. Bronze is softer than steel, so bronze wool scratches less than steel wool of a comparable grade. Overall, bronze wool is a big improvement over steel wool for many applications, and Ive already ordered more of the fine as well as some of the coarse grade. The only reasons for giving docking it a star are: 1) its much more expensive than steel wool (yes, I would expect it to be more expensive, but IMO its disproportionately so, although the price has come down since my original order) 2) because its a soft metal, tiny fragments break off and can make a mess. Note: Bronze wool comes in fine (this one), medium, and coarse grades. I havent seen the medium grade anywhere, but Ive ordered the coarse grade and will post a review after Ive had a chance to work with it. Heres a link the coarse grade in case anyone wants to compare:
