> 3 dayPleased with the results, although you need to use only a small amount at a time because is breaks down and crumbles as its used. I used it in place of steel wool after waxing painted furniture with Annie Sloan products with quick, excellent results.

Greater than one weekBronze wool is what you want to use instead of steel wool, especially when working with firearms because the bronze is softer than the steel the firearm is made from, so no scratches or rust from pieces of steel wool that break off and are left behind. I used the bronze wool to remove rust and corrosion from the guns and then applied oil to prevent further damage. A single pad lasts quite awhile and this produces really amazing results!

> 3 dayThis was perfect for removing hard to remove rust from a semi-soft metal item that I didnt want to scratch. Between this and #0000 steel wool I was able to remove 90% of the rust. There are still a few rough spots that are really rusted but I had no visible scratches even after hard scrubbing. It also holds up for a while when using.

Greater than one weekI hate working with steel wool because it rusts so quickly. If youre using steel wool to remove the finish on wood, little bits of rusty steel can get into the wood and ruin the surface. I was very excited to find out that there was such as thing as bronze wool and immediately bought some to try. Ive used it in my furniture refinishing projects for several months now and also to remove rust on metal. Ive also started using it in place of kitchen steel wool pads, which become quickly become too rusty to use. Bronze is softer than steel, so bronze wool scratches less than steel wool of a comparable grade. Overall, bronze wool is a big improvement over steel wool for many applications, and Ive already ordered more of the fine as well as some of the coarse grade. The only reasons for giving docking it a star are: 1) its much more expensive than steel wool (yes, I would expect it to be more expensive, but IMO its disproportionately so, although the price has come down since my original order) 2) because its a soft metal, tiny fragments break off and can make a mess. Note: Bronze wool comes in fine (this one), medium, and coarse grades. I havent seen the medium grade anywhere, but Ive ordered the coarse grade and will post a review after Ive had a chance to work with it. Heres a link the coarse grade in case anyone wants to compare:

crazy finger magic
> 3 dayGreat for guitar frets. They do not shed and crumble or pack down densely. 1 pad lasts longer than I expected. Especially compared to steel. I found the natural oxidation of guitar strings was minimized. Less evident on my fingers. Not cheap in price but not cheap in performance. Overall I am pleased.

> 3 dayBronze wool is the only thing to use in certain circumstances. And this stuff works great for those times when steel wool wont work very well, or is otherwise unsuitable.
