> 3 dayI am incredibly happy with this HP laptop. It is certainly proved to be a significant upgrade from my previous HP laptop. I’ve owned four or five laptops made by HP in the past, and this is by far my favorite. It has the battery life and performance to deliver high speed results all day.

> 3 dayBought this for me father and he loves it. After tinkering with his desktop unit over the years to keep it running, he pulled the trigger and asked about a new one. This was a great choice.

> 3 dayIve had this laptop for a little over a month now as I finally broke down and bought something to have in tandem with my work issued laptop as we work from home. Im not putting it under hardcore use - just having something where I can have another screen to pull up online documents - and havent had any issues with performance speed, nor boot up time. Its fast. No issues with battery life. It seems to be a fine computer - except for one (in my view) rather annoying feature - the CPU fan.

> 3 dayFor a mid-priced laptop this thing falls short. Why did they make the letters on the keyboard so lite? Theyre really hard to read unless the light is perfect and I have to constantly face the screen down just to illuminate them. No Ethernet port so an adapter is necessary which uses up one of the only two usb ports.

Greater than one weekI complained from the beginning about how erratic the laptop ran. I spent over 4 hours with their technicians telling me that we are just about at a point of fixing it. After my multiple times of complaining, I said I wanted to return it to the HP representative, and he told me it was past the month, (one week) and they could not replace it or take it back. I curse the day I switched to HP. I have bought Dell for years and never had a problem. Their laptops work. Disgusted.

Greater than one weekJust wanted to drop a review here saying its super simple to add another 8gb of ram to this notebook. HP provides helpful repair videos on youtube for the DY-1000 series of notebooks that show you how to replace a ram module. If you notice on the video, theres a second, completely empty ram slot beside the one with the 8gb stick that comes from the factory. This laptop supports 16gb of ram (2x8gb sticks), per the support manual from HPs own website. Caution, if you somehow mess it up your warranty may be voided. HP does not recommend you do any sort of upgrades or repairs on this notebook. But, if you want 16gb of ram (and you do) its very easy to upgrade.
