> 3 dayThe night vision is great and picture quality is good! The monitor stays charged for awhile if the screen is turned off. Gave it 4 stars because I really wish you could put the screen to sleep and have it turn on automatically when baby cries.

> 3 dayI LOVE the 8pro camera and monitor. Its everything we need with great sound and video quality. Its been 8 months since my baby was born and we have used the cam for only about 4 months of it. Today, only 4 months in the monitor stopped turning on. I have ordered an infant optics certified battery replacement to see if that is the issue - hoping that fixes it because we love this camera!

> 3 dayIve only had the DXR-8 PRO for a couple days (since Nov 9, 2020), but so far its great. I suppose it might be possible to get a better picture elsewhere (a wifi based system) but this one is the best Ive seen (compared to my old monitor and those of family and friends, none of which are the DXR-8 PRO). I specifically wanted a monitor with better night vision than the old one I had and Im quite pleased with the night vision on this! We were looking for a non-wifi system as we didnt want to have our baby monitor hooked up to the internet for three reasons: first, the internet isnt the most reliable (mediacom) and Id hate to lose signal on the monitor simply because the wifi was down; second, security concerns, and third, we hope to move to the country and internet is at a premium there, so the less using it the better. I also really wanted the ability to pan and tilt the camera so that Id be able to see the whole room, and the ability to talk back (great for when youre trying to work in the kitchen downstairs and your toddler needs reminded to lay down and be quiet). Its cold out so I havent tested the range outside yet, but I havent had any issues inside and I havent popped up the antenna on the monitor once. I love the fact that therere dedicated buttons for the volume (some monitors I considered didnt have this) and the talk back feature (best friends has talk back but you have to push another button before you can use it). While not something I had to have its also nice to have the dedicated screen brightness buttons, as Im used to that from my old monitor. The Active Noise Reduction is nice, I tend to turn it off while my kids are going to sleep as It makes their musical seahorses sound warbled (not the kids) it is designed for blocking out a steady noise (a fan, HVAC, etc.) the music from the seahorses is constant (when theyre on) not steady (hope that makes sense). Turning the ANR on/off is easy thanks to the fact that one of the main buttons controls it (buttons are much nicer than menus IMO). I like having the volume light bar (also something Im accustomed to from my old monitor). Im also glad that the volume gets loud enough for me to hear it over other things going on (best friends is too quiet at full volume). I cant speak to the battery life, as I have the monitor plugged in most of the time. Its nice to have two cords for the monitor (it came with two; one plugs into a wall outlet the other a USB) so I dont have to bring to cord with me upstairs/downstairs if I want to plug it in (which I usually do) though it would be nice if the USB cord were a little longer (its just over three feet in length); The other cord is plenty long. The sleep timer is easily adjusted (1, 3, 5min or off) and pressing any button turns the screen back on (nice in a dark room) and then you press the sleep button to turn the screen back off (or wait on the timer). The whole thing is very easy to set up. Id say the most difficult thing about setting up the unit was feeding the cord behind a set of shelves so it would be out of the way, though my husband would probably say the mounting of it was (took him maybe 3 minutes to drill a hole put in the anchor and screw and hang the camera) the camera and monitor come already paired (though the instructions on how to do it are included, and its very simple) so its really a plug it in, turn it on and youre done system. I like the fact that Infant Optics sells replacement batteries and cords so if someday I feel I need a new battery or cord I can easily get one. I also had the pleasant surprise of being able to extend my warranty for an additional year (there was a card informing me of this in the pouch with the user manual) if I made sure to register my DXR-8 PRO within 7 days. Though hopefully I wont ever need the warranty. All in all Im very happy with the DXR-8 PRO.

24-11-2024We upgraded to this camera when our 2nd was born. We love that it can switch back and fourth between the two cameras and you can even add up to 4. Picture quality and sound are great. We did A LOT of research before selecting this setup. A little over a year after purchase we starting having issues with the monitor itself where it would shut off or have no picture and the company was excellent in getting us a prompt replacement. We are very happy!

24-11-2024I am using this monitor with 2 cameras and it does a great job - clear picture and sound quality, easy to use, lots of customizable settings (like 24 hour format and temperature in C), and a much further reach than a previously owned Motorola camera, so I can go in my garden without loosing signal. This is not a split screen, but cycles through the cameras (you can customize time intervals) what works really well in practice - for some reason I was set on a split screen for the second baby, but that is really not needed. After using it for close to 2 years the parent unit went out on me, showing only a black screen while the sound still worked. I was able to get it going again after reconnecting the cameras, but the fix did not last long and it went black again. I reached out to customer service, and Emma C has been nothing but amazing. I got a reply within 10 minutes of my first request with detailed troubleshooting instructions. There was some back and forth and Emma always replied promptly. When the instructions only got the monitor back to life for a short time, I was offered a replacement unit which arrived the next day. I only had to pay shipping for the return of my original unit - InfantOptics is pretty adamant to get the broken unit back, what is understandable as otherwise people might get a replacement and sell the broken unit on ebay. Very pleased with the experience - highly recommend.

> 3 dayFirst off, I used the DXR 8 for 2 years and felt it was time for an upgrade so I purchased the pro. The quality difference was like night and day. I bought the pro in October and in December my monitor just stopped working. When I tell you the customer service goes above and beyond. I had a brand new monitor delivered to my house within 24 hours. And they reached out to follow up that everything was working smoothly.

> 3 dayThis is a big upgrade from the non-pro version, especially the larger screen, higher resolution, and noise cancelling feature. We did have an issue where our monitor stopped working when it was not plugged in (not a battery issue). I contacted customer support and they were very responsive and quickly sent a new unit after short troubleshooting steps. They understood it would be very inconvenient to send our unit back first, so they sent the new unit before requiring us to send in the old one. I was shocked that I did not wait at all when I called their customer service phone number. The new unit works great!

> 3 dayI have only had the monitor for one day so I can’t speak for its longevity, but I am pleased with its function so far and it was easy to set up. The battery does not hold a charge for very long, but if it is plugged in it works well. I had to maneuver the camera quite a bit to actually find the best place to put it to see the baby, but once I found him the image was good. It doesn’t use WiFi so I don’t have to worry about the video being accessible to anyone outside of my home. It was a little more expensive than I had anticipated, but if it holds up it will be worth the money. All in all, I am pleased.

> 3 dayWe ordered this monitor in Nov 2021 and were super excited at how well it worked. The active noise reduction was amazing because we use a sound machine and compared to the old monitor we had, it was so nice not to hear that constant noise. We werent through 2 monitors prior to this before she was even 1 because they kept crapping out. I was hoping the quality of this one would be superior as the reviews I read were great. I was a bit disappointed that our monitor started having issues before wed even used it for one year. The volume button started being weird and the monitor would turn the volume all the way down by itself. It also would zoom in and out randomly on its own or turn on the screen even though I had put it in sleep mode. I contacted customer service about it, as it was just barely under the 1 year warranty, and Zeil was extremely helpful. They replaced the monitor unit for me right away with out giving me trouble at all. The new one I got seems like it is even a bit more improved since the last one or maybe the last one always just had something a little bit wrong. Every now and then the old one would turn on the noise by itself and the the ANR would kick in again. This one does not do that. Again, i love the monitor and its fantastic quality as far as picture, zoom and sound. I just really hope this one doesnt start having problems again less than a year from now. If so, its cheapies here on out for me. Fingers crossed because i do love it!

24-11-2024UPDATE: After a few months the monitor was making some crackling noises. I emailed support and they were quick to respond and determine it wasnt something that could be fixed. They sent me out a new one right away. Very pleased with the customer service! Our DXR-8 was showing its age after 3 years of daily use, so we got this and Im loving the upgrade in camera quality! Images are of my older daughters room, both with the light on and off, with both units. The OG monitor worked great but even with the light on, it would often go into nighttime mode because it wouldnt detect enough light. The new camera doesnt have that problem and I can see so much more of the room! (I do use the wide angle lens in her room). But during the night on the OG monitor I couldnt see her in her bed, even though the camera points in that direction, I couldnt make out the bed in the corner of the monitor enough to see HER in it. Even with full brightness. But the plus has a much better view of the top bunk where she sleeps, even on the lowest brightness setting (which its set to in the picture). Ive loved this brands quality and the Plus is no exception! Worth the $300 (also bought the second camera)
