My husband and I have had this monitor since late 2021. It worked great up until a few months ago. It started loosing sound. Restarting it would fix it, but that gets annoying after a while. The next issue is that the battery life isnt good anymore. It drained today from full to 1 bar within 2 hours of being unplugged, screen only on to check on my napping baby, then off again. Ill be ordering a new battery, but Im not sure Id recommend this device.

This camera is heavenly! As a first time mom I wanted the best and most reliable monitor and this is it! I havent tried the original model so I cant say if this is better. I initially wanted a wifi monitor and purchased the Nanit but it was horrible. Even with upgraded wifi the camera still buffered and was very grainy. It was EXTREMELY annoying having to use the app and keep it open at all times on my phone...so if I wanted to see baby I couldnt do anything else on my phone. There was a loud buzzing sound (from AC?) that couldnt really be heard in the room but was super loud through the monitor. Enter the Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO! This camera/monitor was the answer to ALL the issues with the Nanit and all my concerns. Pros: -The picture is crystal clear. Night vision is also really good. -The camera covers the whole room as I am able to use the arrows on the monitor screen to move the camera - Zoom is good ( I dont really use this much to be honest) -ANR is AMAZING. We use a very loud fan in lieu of a sound machine and it cannot be heard AT ALL through the monitor - Connection is great. I never had an issue with range even through concrete walls. - Monitor is a decent size, can adjust sound and brightness. - Monitor can be used on sleep mode where the screen goes off but the sound is still heard. (to be fair I dont actually use this I keep the screen on at all times on the lowest brightness). - Monitor charges quickly and makes a very loud noise (not annoying, just a loud chime) when charge is low, giving enough time to run for the charger! - I feel very confident in this monitor and dont worry about glitches or the screen shutting off. I used it a lot for day time naps to get comfortable before tacking an entire night. Something I worried about with the nanit in the event that my phone died or wifi dropped Cons: - there is a second or 2 sound delay but this is not an issue for me. - monitor in sleep mode isnt sound activated so if baby cries I have to press the button so see the screen - temperature is off by a lot..shows as 5-7 degrees hotter compared to the Nanit which is accurate ( the only thing I like about the Nanit lol) - there is a slight delay when using the talk button on the monitor screen. I mainly use this to communicate with my husband if he is with baby or vice versa. There is a delay in hearing the sound when the talk button is released - The camera doesnt have a chargeable battery, it just plugs in. I didnt think this was an issue until we had a storm and no electricity for more than 12 hours :/ The main downside to a non-wifi monitor is not being able to check in on baby from work but we still have the nanit and nanny cams so its not really an issue. I highly recommend this camera - it will definitely give you peace of mind :)

I have an issue that A Monitor Power Adapters not plug side got stuck in DC Jack IN. So I asked Customer Support Team by email if they could resolve the issue or not by using 2 year warranty. First, their responses were very polite and relatively quick. Second, they gave me some advice and ways to keep the camera monitor working without using a monitor power adapter. That was also very understandable. Third, Although they were trying to fix it as much as possible by email, at the same time they arranged a new monitor power adapter and then sent it to my house next day. That was so quick. Lastly, they also followed up if everything was ok nor not. I am not sure about why the USB power code does not still work well ( I suppose that the connection is not strong enough), but the new monitor power adapters works and the customer service team was responsible for everything. Thank you so much.

Quick response, remote control of camera is a great feature, great resolution. A glaring minus: charging port broke in exactly one year. Seem like a common issue. They quickly replaced the monitor though, so excellent customer service.

I liked this product until all the buttons on the monitor started glitching. Now some buttons don’t work and others work for the wrong things. Nothing happened to the monitor to make this problem occur. Very disappointed as I basically can’t use any of the buttons or even do the factory reset because I can’t get there.

Having had two different cameras (owlet and vtech) this one is far superior in video quality, features, sound, and range. The ability to move the camera around from the handheld monitor is so nice when you have a baby that moves around a lot in the crib. The only complaint is the battery life - it’s definitely helpful to have two chargers handy for your bedroom and then main living space so you aren’t moving a charger back and forth throughout the day. We have loved this unit and do not regret the purchase!

This moniter was recommended by many people despite the cost. I was a little reluctant but am very happy with my purchase. Zooms well even without the zoom lense.

Works great until it doesn’t. For the price, it should last a few years

The Infant Optics Pro baby monitor is an excellent choice for parents who want to keep a watchful eye on their little ones. The delivery was timely, and the product arrived in perfect condition. The camera quality is exceptional, and the video feed is crystal clear. The camera has an impressive zoom feature that allows you to get a closer look at your baby whenever you need to. One of the best features of this baby monitor is its long battery life. You can use it for several hours without needing to recharge, which is a real plus for parents who want to keep an eye on their baby throughout the night. Another great feature of this baby monitor is its user-friendly design. Its effortless to set up, and the controls are easy to navigate, which makes it simple to use even for those who arent tech-savvy. Overall, I highly recommend the Infant Optics Pro baby monitor to any parent looking for a reliable and high-quality baby monitor. The quality of the camera and the ease of use make it an excellent choice, and Im confident that you will be just as satisfied with your purchase as I am.
