> 3 dayThe night vision is great and picture quality is good! The monitor stays charged for awhile if the screen is turned off. Gave it 4 stars because I really wish you could put the screen to sleep and have it turn on automatically when baby cries.

Greater than one weekI love the sharpness of the screen and that I can move the camera up and down or to either side just by clicking on the monitor! but after using it for 7 months the monitor just didnt work, it didnt want to turn on even though the battery was fully charged. I contacted customer service and Kristine responded and solved the issue very quickly. I think I had the most wonderful experience with all the customer service Ive experienced.

> 3 dayWe couldnt be happier with our system and have been very pleased with the customer support from Infant Optics. Weve been using the monitor/camera for a couple of years now, and its been great. Recently, though, we started having problems turning the monitor on. I decided to reach out to customer support to see if they had any recommendations, even though it was out of warranty. To my surprise, they replaced the camera anyway. Their replacement arrived quickly and has worked flawlessly. All that to say, were really impressed! We like companies that stand behind their products. I will also add that we recently acquired a second camera to monitor a different room, and the monitor has worked very well for that, too. Users can quickly bounce back and forth between different cameras -- it works great. Were impressed and so glad we chose the DXR8-Pro!

> 3 dayIve only had the DXR-8 PRO for a couple days (since Nov 9, 2020), but so far its great. I suppose it might be possible to get a better picture elsewhere (a wifi based system) but this one is the best Ive seen (compared to my old monitor and those of family and friends, none of which are the DXR-8 PRO). I specifically wanted a monitor with better night vision than the old one I had and Im quite pleased with the night vision on this! We were looking for a non-wifi system as we didnt want to have our baby monitor hooked up to the internet for three reasons: first, the internet isnt the most reliable (mediacom) and Id hate to lose signal on the monitor simply because the wifi was down; second, security concerns, and third, we hope to move to the country and internet is at a premium there, so the less using it the better. I also really wanted the ability to pan and tilt the camera so that Id be able to see the whole room, and the ability to talk back (great for when youre trying to work in the kitchen downstairs and your toddler needs reminded to lay down and be quiet). Its cold out so I havent tested the range outside yet, but I havent had any issues inside and I havent popped up the antenna on the monitor once. I love the fact that therere dedicated buttons for the volume (some monitors I considered didnt have this) and the talk back feature (best friends has talk back but you have to push another button before you can use it). While not something I had to have its also nice to have the dedicated screen brightness buttons, as Im used to that from my old monitor. The Active Noise Reduction is nice, I tend to turn it off while my kids are going to sleep as It makes their musical seahorses sound warbled (not the kids) it is designed for blocking out a steady noise (a fan, HVAC, etc.) the music from the seahorses is constant (when theyre on) not steady (hope that makes sense). Turning the ANR on/off is easy thanks to the fact that one of the main buttons controls it (buttons are much nicer than menus IMO). I like having the volume light bar (also something Im accustomed to from my old monitor). Im also glad that the volume gets loud enough for me to hear it over other things going on (best friends is too quiet at full volume). I cant speak to the battery life, as I have the monitor plugged in most of the time. Its nice to have two cords for the monitor (it came with two; one plugs into a wall outlet the other a USB) so I dont have to bring to cord with me upstairs/downstairs if I want to plug it in (which I usually do) though it would be nice if the USB cord were a little longer (its just over three feet in length); The other cord is plenty long. The sleep timer is easily adjusted (1, 3, 5min or off) and pressing any button turns the screen back on (nice in a dark room) and then you press the sleep button to turn the screen back off (or wait on the timer). The whole thing is very easy to set up. Id say the most difficult thing about setting up the unit was feeding the cord behind a set of shelves so it would be out of the way, though my husband would probably say the mounting of it was (took him maybe 3 minutes to drill a hole put in the anchor and screw and hang the camera) the camera and monitor come already paired (though the instructions on how to do it are included, and its very simple) so its really a plug it in, turn it on and youre done system. I like the fact that Infant Optics sells replacement batteries and cords so if someday I feel I need a new battery or cord I can easily get one. I also had the pleasant surprise of being able to extend my warranty for an additional year (there was a card informing me of this in the pouch with the user manual) if I made sure to register my DXR-8 PRO within 7 days. Though hopefully I wont ever need the warranty. All in all Im very happy with the DXR-8 PRO.

> 3 dayHaving had two different cameras (owlet and vtech) this one is far superior in video quality, features, sound, and range. The ability to move the camera around from the handheld monitor is so nice when you have a baby that moves around a lot in the crib. The only complaint is the battery life - it’s definitely helpful to have two chargers handy for your bedroom and then main living space so you aren’t moving a charger back and forth throughout the day. We have loved this unit and do not regret the purchase!

> 3 dayThrilled I finally found a camera and monitor that works! I had to purchase a new monitor that was compatible with 2 cameras after having my second child since our first system didn’t have an available 2nd camera. This is my 4th camera duo purchase and I was starting to think I would never find one that worked. This thankfully is great!!! The reviews on the previous purchases all seemed great but this people either had low standards or just totally lied. This is worth the money! Pros: - night vision is great and very clear -you can still hear the volume when the camera monitor is on standby mode and dark to conserve battery - using 2 cameras it is easy to toggle between each camera and they do not go offline (which my last purchase did ALL the time) - battery life on the monitor has been impressive but I have kept screen on standby mode majority of the time since I can still hear - monitor is a great size. And not having to be connected to Wi-Fi makes it feel more secure CONS: -the monitor takes a specific post type charger so you can’t use any USB C or micro USB that you probably have dozens of around your house and will have to keep up with the one charger

> 3 dayBefore I write this I want to say I was not encouraged or bribed to write this review. I’ve seen a few reviews that said they were encouraged to write a review. I was not and these are my honest thoughts. We bought the Miku monitor and the stand that goes with it. All in, $500! But we loved the idea of the breathing tracking and the alerts if no breathing was detected. Without going into too many details, we HATED it. On top of just not being able to track breathing, the picture quality was horrible. I also hated how I could only view on my phone. It made my phone virtually useless to anything else if I wanted to just see the monitor. I really didn’t want to give in and buy something new because of how much money we has invested in this system. But I had to. I didn’t feel comfortable that I couldn’t really see her at night. I thought I would get something cheap. But I couldn’t get past how many good reviews this product had and how great it looked. Sooo glad I gave in and got this! I cannot believe how great the picture quality is. Even in night vision, I can easily see details like the small rise and fall of her chest or drool on her mouth. I also love that I can take the monitor around the house with me and still have my phone free. The features are all great. I love being able to dim it down or turn down the volume. I also love being able to adjust the camera (something the Miku also lacked). If you’re on the fence, just get this!! Sometimes more expensive doesn’t always mean better.

23-11-2024Definitely happy with this monitor and I take it with me when I travel too. Its not perfect but in monitor worlds it is close to it -- I think monitors have a bit of a way to go to be extremely optimal but it is definitely the best out there right now. Also so worth it because the customer service is amazing! My monitor malfunctioned and after reaching out to them and trying to troubleshoot, they sent me a new one and the process was easy breazy. Kristine Z was a pleasure to deal with.
