Greater than one weekSuper accurate, easy to use, can’t beat the price. A must have, or you risk cooking your fish if a heater fails. This is a smart safety backup.

> 3 dayAfter 9 months of use in my reef tank I received the dreaded call from home while at work that the tank has an alarm going off. I was able to reset the controller but it failed again after a few hours. I contacted Inkbird about the warrantee and the failure and they said it was most likely the temperature sensor that failed. After a few weeks I received the replacement sensor and it has fixed the issue. My only complaint about the replacement part is they wanted the owner to splice it in. I am a qualified electronics tech so I went a step further and soldered it into the main board. My concern is with customers who dont have the proper means to perform the repair properly. Inkbird should pay for proper repairs when the unit is under warrantee. Update: After a few days the controller failed again and Inkbird quickly sent a replacement. I am giving this model 3 stars due to the issues with warrantee repairs. The customer should never be required to complete repairs.

> 3 dayI have this set up with an immersion heater for a test setup in my lab. I needed a quick and cheap way to control a water reservoir temperature, and the immersion heater didnt have temp control. The Inkbird is easy to use, settings are relatively straightforward if you follow the instructions. Its good enough to keep my reservoir within 2deg Fahrenheit of the target temp and also provides a safe way to leave it unattended. I calibrated the Inkbird with a thermistor I had, as it arrived about 3deg F off.

> 3 dayBought this one to replace a previous model which failed when used in a saltwater aquarium. This one works well so far for the past couple of months. Setup was pretty easy but I do check the accuracy from time to time with another thermometer just because of the failure in the previous model.

> 3 dayIm sure the quality is very good. The extra outlet is good for attaching a 2nd device. The instructions have mostly scientific gook that doesnt mean much for an amateur like me. The instructions are not very effective about how to set it up. I experimented for a couple of hours before I could get it to work at all. Now it works, but Im not sure how to do it again. There are a few other products available in a close price range that work just as well without the fuss. I wouldnt buy this again.

> 3 dayIt won’t let me set the night timer or the night heat, instructions aren’t very clear which makes the set up process harder and it didn’t help that I couldn’t set up the night temp. Disappointed

> 3 dayI’m on my third unit now (for 3 tanks) and I couldn’t be happier. Great price, great features, can control up to 2 heaters in one tank. So much more accurate than the built-on dial of any aquarium heater. I wouldn’t run an aquarium without it. I’ve had some issues with the suction cup but eventually I’ve been able to get it to stick.

Greater than one weekLike many purchasers I bought this new version of the 306T because I do not trust the thermometer on my heater. I really like the big red digital readout that shows me current temp at a glance, from across the room. There is no information yet on the Inkbird website about this new variant of the 306T. The listing photos show the only difference I can see: an all plastic sealed temp probe, that is supposed to be more water proof than the metal tipped probe. I do see than thermometer failure, while not common, is an issue with some of the 306Ts, and my hope is this will solve it. I will revise my review if it does not. A couple of things I did not know: 1st, the finest setting is +/- 1 degree. So if I set it to an average 79 degrees, my heater will come on at 78 and go off at 80. That is fine I think. Other controllers may be more precise...but then they would be going on/off much more frequently. Also, unlike some models, neither version of the 306T seems to have a replaceable thermometer probe. It is permanently attached. I had hoped that this aquarium specific version might come with a suction cup to attach it to the tank. It does not. Still, I am very happy for the price, and it seems very well made. Easy for me to set up with the included instructions.
