Greater than one weekVery user friendly. Currently using it as a temp controller for the attic fan. Set the temp to 100 degrees and the fan has been cooling the attic. Electricity bill has dropped significantly.

> 3 daySo far so good. Once I figured out how to read the characters on the screen I understood the setup completely. I really like the unit. I use it to control my aquarium heater. Seems solid and well-made.

> 3 dayMy first one lasted a couple months before going bad and saying it was 120 degrees in my Illinois basement... My second one boiled my fish alive (its been in the 40’s outside) saying it was -25.... And the room its in is a boiler room... Room temp read 71 degrees.

21-11-2024I needed just heating. A lot of inkbird products provide heating and cooling which is not what I need. I used this for a reef aquarium and it works perfectly fine.

> 3 dayThere are three InkBird controllers with aquarium probes right now (Oct 2020). Ive tried this 306, the 306A (wifi), and 308S in my fresh and salt water tanks. The 308S is the best for aquarium use. The 306 and 306A temp display almost never changes. It may be tracking the temp internally as it changes, but if the display doesnt update, I dont trust it. Even though the wifi feature on the 306A is nice, it has an annoying alarm feature that makes it unusable for my purposes. I use heaters with internal thermostats paired with an InkBird so I have two levels of protection. I set the InkBird target temp slightly higher than the heaters target temp so it will stop a runaway heater. In any other situation, I want the InkBird to keep power applied to the heaters. But the 306A will alarm if the water does not reach the 306As target temp after a user-selected time ranging from 1-72 hours. Theres no way to turn that feature off. The 308S temp display changes frequently by 0.1 degrees as the water temp changes, so its clear that it actively monitors temp. It will alarm at whatever cold/hot temp you set, but it does not have the annoying time/alarm function. It also has a separable temp probe that can be easily replaced. The downsides are it doesnt have a wifi function, and the max sensitivity for target temp settings is 1.0 degree (instead of 0.1 degree on the others). The temp can be calibrated up or down if its not reading accurately. The 308S is also for heating and cooling. I use it connected to a heater and a cooling fan for one aquarium. For the others, I dont use the cooling feature, but I connect two heaters to the heating outlet using an adapter.

> 3 dayI’ve always been a fan of the Inkbrid brand when it comes to temperature controllers. They’re very reliable, well made and I like their simple design. Easy to operate and awesome features (day and night differential) and this one comes with a waterproof temperature probe! This one is an all-heat controller so don’t expect this one to cool things off for you!

> 3 daySuper easy to use and makes it so you can protect your aquarium from getting to hot from a faulty heater.

> 3 dayThis is really something worth every penny in my tank. The temperature reading seems pretty spot on and brings a lot of peace of mind knowing it will shut my heater off if it ever goes haywire. Pretty easy to set up and has already saved me heartache. My only complaint would be that it doesn’t turn back on the outlet once it reaches an acceptable temperature and there isn’t any way of knowing it shut your heater off if you’re passively monitoring your temperature. All in all this is worth having and reasonably priced.

> 3 dayI’ve only had the product a few days so I’ll edit if anything changes, but so far so good. I have a second thermometer in the tank and they are on point with each other. My heater hadn’t gotten warm enough to invoke the shut off feature yet (my heater drama is for another day....) so no comment on that. I found it super easy to set up, the instructions have a flow chart that is easy to follow, I didn’t need any additional help from the internet.
