Jabsco Manual Pump Assembly f/29090-Series

I am not particularly handy. But, with the great U-tube instruction video, I had the confidence to handle this replacement project. I was really not that difficult. I am sure I saved a lot of money by not asking the marina mechanics to do it for me.

This pump assembly was an exact replacement for my old one in our Catalina 380. The installation was simple and fairly quick. I took the opportunity to clean the hoses as well as the space behind the toilette, so everything looks almost brand new. The pump works great! It takes less pumping to get rid of things in the bowl and it doesnt allow any back flow.

My head was struggling to flush. I heard about re-building valves etc.. spend the money (very little extra) and just buy the whole pump assembly! This works like a dream and was minimally gross.

The new backflow gasket is going to solve a few issues. But the outlet fitting is a different angle so you may (I did) have to take the old one off and swap them. If I ever change the whole thing out I would not go with Jabsco.

Fuel pump worked just fine. Its very noisy (much more then the original) but works good.

Our boat had the previous pump style. With the upgrade you get the lock down handle which reduced back-wash and helps (but doesnt eliminate) the possibilty of sinking your vessel by leaving the valve open. If your older pump needs to be rebuilt I highly recommend the $15-$20 more to upgrade to this. Plus installation took about 7 minutes.

Works like brand new...wait a minute, it is new. This is my spare but an identical one works better than the one that came with the head when it was new.

Quick and simple to install. Great Value. The head has never worked better. Video installation guide was very helpful in assuring project sanitation. It about 20 minutes. Now everybody is happy! Jabsco even provides you with a couple extra bolts. How often does that ever happen? Thumbs up!!

Arrived as advertised. The only complaint we would have was that it was just boxed in paper with no bag protecting it or the grease sealing the valve. No damage, but it just seemed thrown in a box. Cheaper than west marine and was genuine jabsco.

Could just rebuild the joker but mine was old and ugly new one is real nice
