> 3 dayAfter a little shopping around there was only $1.00 difference between a rebuild kit for the older style pump and a complete new model pump...no brainer! This was an easy installation updating an 1999 model head, four screws and four hose clamps. The only way it could be simpler is if they sent someone to install it for you.

> 3 dayPerfect replacement part for older nonlocking model. Thought problem was joker valve but turned out to be base valve gasket under pump assembly. New locking feature added security to keep valve closed.

> 3 dayExcellent replacement unit for my old and tired unit on the boat. Ironically it was only a few bucks more than getting the gasket set alone so it was a no-brainer. Easy to fit and all required parts were provided, including a spare securing screw. Happy to recomment this to others, you will not be disappointed.

Greater than one weekThis is a drop-in replacement that is excellent value for the money. Head lube can only work for so long! It was to the point that my wife needed two hands to operate the previous pump. Now, two fingers and no squeaking! I have kept the removed unit and may buy a seal kit and rebuild it. Happy wife, happy life!

> 3 dayMight as well replace the entire unit a a slightly higher cost than rebuilding a worn out unit.

> 3 dayInstall time was less than 5 minutes. The new locking feature is well worth the price of pump replacement and works great. No more holding tank backing up into the bowl. When compared with the price of replacing the various gaskets and seals to rebuild your existing pump, this is a no brainer. Get it now. July 2011 update: Seems the seals on this work no better than previous models. After 2 years I again have the holding tank backing up into to the bowl. So, I replaced the joker valve and the bottom flapper at a cost of $36. For just a few $$ more I could have replace the entire pump and had all new seals and O-rings. My advice is to just plan on replacing the the pump every 2 years since it is less expensive to do that than to replace all the seals. Too bad Jabsco couldnt create a product that truly locks. May 2014: Installed a new one in the spring of 2013. Lasted one year and just replaced the joker valve in spring of 2014. The cost of these has gone up considerably and seal last a year, maybe. Going to replace the toilet with something other than Jabsco.

> 3 daythe reason for only 4 instead of 5 stars is that this is the 2nd pump I have bought from jabsco, and each time instead of receiving the 4 screws you need to assemble it, I have only received 1 or 2. worries me that their quality control cannot even count to 4.
