> 24 hourJust purchased a board so I wanted to use the oil and cream to get the board off to a good start. Since it is so expensive I wasnt about to have all the product soak up on a rag or paper towel. I washed my hands, dried them and commenced rubbing the oil on the board. Let that dry for 24 hours then wipe off the excess and apply the cream for another round of 24 hours. The oil and cream bring out the most beautiful hues and variation of grains in the wood. Its more than a cutting board, its a piece of art. I am so happy, I finally own a Boos.

> 24 hourThese two products made a huge difference in my new Boos work table. I thought it was beautiful as is, but after applying the oil one night and the cream the next night, it looks 10 times better. The color is more rich and the texture is more smooth. Its stunning. The table is 60 x 30, but I barely made a dent in the containers. While I was at it, I decided to oil my salad bowl and wooden spoons, and everything looks better.

> 24 hourThe only reason for the four stars is the price: this is overpriced as a package. The oil and cream work amazing and they are amazing products. The applicator is twice as expensive as other good brands. The reason I bought it is because it comes with a cap for the sponge. I wanted something to set it in that would be mess free. The cap isn’t worth $10, but I didn’t see anything else that came with one. As far as effectiveness, I actually like the applicator a lot. Rags are a pain to clean after and so I usually used my hands to rub the oil and cream into the board. I find that the applicator works well and that I actually can use less product for the same results. Again, probably not worth it as a package, but certainly convenient.

> 24 hourI’m really impressed with this product. I’ve been using another brand but it took several coats and didn’t give me the “dry” finish I was looking for. Boos Block oil and cream were easy to apply and I love the finish! For my new boards all I had to do was apply one coat of oil, let it dry overnight and wipe off any excess then apply the cream and let it set overnight and the wipe off any excess. Perfect finish and not oily at all! After doing all of these boards, I was shocked at how little product I used. If you can’t see the bottles in my picture they are over 3/4 full!

> 24 hourI used the oil to clean the board when it arrived. Lots of dust and unidentifiable debris came up on the cleaning cloth, so I scrubbed generously until the board came clean. I applied the oil according to directions from Boos, left it overnight to soak in and now the board is clean and hopefully well protected. Maple is very hard wood and the board should now be watertight and easy to clean between uses. Directions are to use the oil once a month.

> 24 hourI use this on my cutting boards and wooden spoons and spatulas monthly if heavily used and periodically if not and it keeps them looking like new and I feel confident that even though I clean them after use, they are being protected against germs and other nasties by being properly sealed and conditioned.

> 24 hourThis product has me totally hooked. Its a Zen moment in the morning after coffee with no distractions, just working the oil or the cream into the board with my bare hands. I love it. <Preachy> In todays throwaway society, it seems strange to invest a few minutes each morning on a board that you could probably just replace annually for less money than your cost of labor to maintain it. And thats how weve gone so wrong. </Preachy> Oil the board regularly, and occasionally seal it with the cream. Both things are important, but the oil is more important and needs more frequent application. The oil seeps in to the wood and protects it. The cream seals the oil onto the board. Each time I put the board in the sink and wipe it off, the hot water eats away at the cream and then the oil. Im up to a tiny micro application once a week (a tiny bit of oil sealed in with a tiny bit of cream) followed by a major application once a month (douse it with oil, let dry two days, douse it with cream and let dry for two days.) Boards in storage also need attention about twice a year. Oil, wait a few days, then cream. Do both sides of the board, so four days total. Boos recommends just wiping off the excess the next day. I find that two days of letting the oil soak in tells me how dry the board was. After two days, if theres still excess I wipe it off before applying the cream. Then I let the cream set for two days as well. Usually theres not much excess to wipe off after two days.
