Using both products, butcher block looks great. Ive always just used an oil on my Boos Butcher block. Happy they arrived in a plastic zip lock bag.... Mystery Oil leaked a little. Rats, I didnt think of taking a before picture. In reading other reviews of counterfeit, this label was not applied to the mystery oil bottle, it was definitely printed onto the bottle. Would buy again when Im low.

Brings your board back to life! But don’t wait until it’s dull before using. Once a month is about right. Follow the instructions and your board will stay healthy. No weird smell, wipes right off. I let it sit overnight. Looks like new after each use. With how much these boards cost, this oil and conditioner are worth it!

Bought for a gift - cutting boards are so hot now and I live using them.

I like the product but i’m upset that it came and was burst open. Both the oil and the cream had exploded during shipping. Its very moisturizing and a good protectant but I cant use exploded containers.

I purchased the oil and the cream. I choose this brand because I liked the name of it. Products arrived quick and in perfect condition. After cleaning my cutting boards and letting them try, I started with one layer of oil on each side and on the edges. I let it sit for a couple of hours and put on another coat. I ended up doing four coats of oil. They were in BAD condition and thirsty!! The last layer of oil I let sit overnight. In the morning I wiped the boards with a clean cloth to just pick up any extra oil. Then I applied a coat of the cream, again to each side and the edges and let that sit for 24 hours. In the morning I took a try cloth and wiped off the excess. I had a lot of time to kill so I didn’t mind waiting, but realistically you can easily do this is a day or two if you wanted. These boards were bleach white, faded, and looked to be in their last leg. After Boos, they look bright, shiny and feel smooth. There is no oily feel left on it. The cream goes A LONG way, so I am sure that will last me forever. I did use quite a generous amount of the oil for the four coats on the two cutting boards (one large board and one small) and still have almost a full bottle.

I just got the new Boos board so I decided to invest in the care products as well. The oil works well. Dont like the cream. Sort of grainy? Anyway it doesn’t spread as well as the oil. Now that I am thru the seasoning period for my board, i only use the oil so I would not recommend this combo package

The only reason for the four stars is the price: this is overpriced as a package. The oil and cream work amazing and they are amazing products. The applicator is twice as expensive as other good brands. The reason I bought it is because it comes with a cap for the sponge. I wanted something to set it in that would be mess free. The cap isn’t worth $10, but I didn’t see anything else that came with one. As far as effectiveness, I actually like the applicator a lot. Rags are a pain to clean after and so I usually used my hands to rub the oil and cream into the board. I find that the applicator works well and that I actually can use less product for the same results. Again, probably not worth it as a package, but certainly convenient.

disappointed because both of my products were not fully filled and both were under the specified weight, so i was shorted product. the oil states 16 oz. and my bottle weighed 14 oz. with packaging, so likely more like 13 oz. the cream states 5 oz and weighed 4.8 oz with packaging, so likely more like 4. disappointing given the price point to be shorted product.

I own three beautiful Boos cutting boards. But for some reason, I took my time on ordering the Mystery Oil and the Cream. I finally got tired of just seeing it in my Wish List, and bought the combo set. Ive gotta admit, Im really happy with the results Ive been getting. Following an expert chefs advice, I actually treated my blocks with the mystery oil night after night at first. Instead of just treating them once a month. Plus I used it on a few other wooden boards and serving trays in my kitchen. Man, this oil will make the cheapest serving tray look like a piece of art. Plus its easy to apply, as well as the beeswax. But then, I did discover something over time.... The Mystery Oil, well, its not exactly a mystery. There was a veteran cutting board owner that did mention that really any food-grade mineral oil will serve the same purpose as the Mystery Oil. And that does seem to be true. So listen, the Mystery Oil is definitely a five-star product as far as what it does for your cutting boards and other wooden kitchenware that doesnt get washed with soap and water or the dishwasher. But the truth is that you can also buy a bulk amount of food-grade mineral oil at a pretty cheap discount on Amazon, regardless. Am I glad that I got this set? Yep. Would I buy it again? Probably not, if I can get the food-grade mineral oil in bulk for a low price. And I use this stuff liberally, so Im going to be buying it bulk for my three Boos Blocks. But if youre new to cutting board treatments, Id say at least give it a shot.
