I read some of the negative reviews. Honestly, if you can load a 30 round AR magazine without shooting yourself or developing some sort of thumb tendon snivel, this diesel can is the way to go. Easy fill easy pour. Stable in transport and does not leak or allow odor out. The people who whine about the safety screen probably also are the type that still need shampoo instructions (lather. Rinse. Repeat). The only down side is the round shape and the fixed spout. It occupies more space than a 5 gal jerry can, but leaks less. Candidly, if you struggle with this items usage, you should not be allowed around even minimally volatile fluids such as diesel. Its for your own good. Well made, good fit and finish inside and out, transports easily with the carry handle, pours easy just by pulling the spring loaded chrome handle, pours at a decent angle into a vehicle so you get all 5 gallons into the truck, fills easily as long as you can generally put a male nozzle into a female receptacle. (OK, clear your mind, dont think vulgar thoughts about petrochemicals). Spout fits every vehicle I have ever put it in.

I have always had the cheap plastic Walmart plastic cans, and they worked ok. Not great, but ok. Then the Government in their immense knowledge decided we needed safety cans for some reason. Only problem is you spill gas all over everything. They really suck! I hated the idea of spending this much on a gas can, but man once you get one, youll be reminded of the old you get what you pay for saying. This thing is a tank. Easy to hold on to while filling your UTV, or lawnmower, and not one drop spilled. And your vehicle wont smell like gas, cuz it doesnt leak, and it wont tip over. I know, this guys pretty excited over a gas can, and youre right I am. Buy one. Youll wonder why you didnt do it sooner

After struggling with the 5 gallon Gott fuel cans for years I saw a Surecan one day and bought it. A big improvement and I thought that you couldnt do any better. The Surecan is good but if I had purchased a Justrite first I dont think I would have been looking for anything better. This can is great. Like everyone says, you can put it inside the vehicle and not detect any smell. Hold it upside down and no leaks, although if you dispense fuel while it is in the upside down position you will get a slight leak. The Gott fuel can could start leaking just sitting there and always smelled of fuel. I have never had a fuel can that you could dispense fuel from so easily and accurately. The Gott seemed to be designed to spill fuel, the Surecan seemed to be either on or off, but this can lets you control the flow so much better. I did add some Edge Trim Black Large, 1/4 Fits Edge (10 Feet Length) to the bottom of the can. Didnt like the sound or idea of the can sliding on a hard surface. Also added a silicon plug to the spout to prevent dirt getting into the nozzle when not in use. I liked this can well enough I know have two.

I like this gas can because I can fill it without having to take the spout off. For the most part, its spill free. And the lever to open up the spout is so much easier than pressing spring loaded plastic levers on cheaper cans. So its great. I did discover after my purchase that I could have save a few dollars buying it elsewhere, but its a great product.

I didnt want to really spend the money for this can but I was tired of having problems with the plastic containers. I bought a plastic container recently and I had to move a small lever and then hold down another one to pour the gas. It was supposed to lock in place but broke the first time I used it. Since I put gas in the container I couldnt return it. If I had three hands it might be easier to use it. The Justrite container is very well made and easy to use. The release handle for pouring gas is right next to the carrying handle and is very convenient. The flexible metal spout is also easier to use than trying to bend the plastic spouts. I wish I had done more research and spent my money on this one in the first place. If youre happy with the plastic containers then so be it. If you have problems with them, as I did, I recommend this container. Not related to the product but I bought this from Amazon and received it very quickly. No problems with packaging or delivery.

Very pricey, but pays for itself over time if you use portable gas cans. I got this small one for mixed and a 5-gallon to replace the, lets just say, retarded plastic unsafe safety cans that our illustrious government decided would keep us from blowing ourselves up. One added benefit is that it keeps a nice seal and can be stored in garage or garden shed and wont leave gas fumes. All-metal means its going to last a lifetime. Im used to the plastic ones being completely intolerant of sunlight, besides being impossible to use, and not lasting at all. This one cures that problem.

No regrets on buying this, a bit pricy but well worth the money. High high quality.

This safety can is different from the type I safety cans (which have a single opening for both filling and pouring) which I have used before. Type II safety cans have two openings, one for filling and a second one to pour the contents into a gas tank. The fill port spring is very stiff and makes the can difficult to open, although that is as it should be, but this feature will also make it more difficult to fill, although the design will be easier to pour with no/minimal spilling. Seems like a good design to me. The downside to this safety can is that it only has a 5/8 pour spout, which I missed when I read about it. I would have preferred the 1 pour spout (since my application is for emergency fuel for my cars), so be careful with this; my thoughts are that the 5/8 pour spout will take longer to empty the can, so you get to hold a heavy can longer than with a 1 pour spout. However, a slower pour rate would be better when filling a smaller tank such as a lawn mower. I would also note that the pour tube will stick out from the can instead of lying flat next to the can, so keep that in mind for when you need to find a place to store your safety can; you will need to permanently attach the pour tube to the safety can, and it is not designed to come on and off. I have not yet tried to fill it at the gas station, but if I like it, I will order a second one but with the 1 pour spout.

I bought this some time ago. I wanted to share I forgot it was in the back of my truck, and it rolled around for a week, with about 2 gallons in it, never leaked a drop. I use it for diesel for my tractor, and it so nice to do five gallons and the flexible hose does not get anywhere it is not supposed to. I am buying another for regular gas.
