> 3 dayI use it mainly for my chainsaws but it is great for all other yard tools. The sprout is small to get into all the tanks and the handle mounted valve is very easy to use and no spill.

> 3 dayI was a little disappointed when my brand new gas can with 5 gallons of fuel in it was leaking gas due to the outside ambient temp. It was in the back of my truck for about 3 hours at about 75F - not in direct sun. When I grabbed the can to fill the dirt bikes, I was surprised to smell the gas and see a steady stream of gas (coming from the filling hole) that was running down the bed. Since then, I only put about 4.5 gallons and viola...no spillage even in the heat. Also, the lever to release fuel for dispensing rubs against the solid handle and gets stuck every time. So, I have to release the dispensing lever a few seconds before I reach the desired volume. Its not really safe or convenient. Not exactly what I was expecting for the price of this can. I contacted Amazon, and they are sending me a new unit. Ill be sure to update this review when I get to test the new can. Im hopeful that my can was simply defective. Thank you Amazon for being so easy to work with on this issue. NEW CAN UPDATE: Well, the same applies to the fluid volume. This should be re-labeled as a 4.5 gallon cannister. The good news is that the new unit doesnt have a faulty lever like the previous cannister. All things considered, this is still the best gas can Ive ever owned and would recommend you to purchase it. Its a 4 star at this point because I cant speak to its durability. Ill update this review in a few years.

> 3 dayI just took this for an elk scouting trip in the backseat of the Subaru; kept smelling gasoline on the drive but figured it must have been the drop or two that spilled from the fuel nossle onto the can when Id filled it up prior to setting out. The fumes were kinda rough so I just lowered the windows and kept driving. Only after I arrived to my destination in the mountains 2 hours later did I unpack my SUV to see: a puddle of gasoline on the floor mat where the can was sitting! Shucks diddly! I removed the floor mat (careful to not pour the puddle of gas all over) and transferred some fuel from the can into the fuel tank figuring that the gas must have spilled out the top of the can due to sloshing around in those mountain roads or maybe to coming out the top due to some change in pressure sciency business - in any case I saw no damage on the can (or leak) and so I put the can into the trunk of the Subaru and left the vehicle for my scouting trip. Several hours later I returned to find: a friggididdly puddle of gasoline in my trunk at the base of the can! What the hecksters! Only when I arrived home and examined the can under my light did I see fuel misting out of a pinhole at the base of the can (the can is upward bowed, like a cola can and the tiny tiny tiny (can barely see with the naked eye) hole is along the perimeter). My can has a manufacturing defect as it has only been kept on flat surfaces and has been taken well care of and is less than a year old! Now my (family) car smells like gasoline and is airing out... the rubber mats are screwed. Cant take the baby out with the car smelling like this! Now to reach out to the manufacturer to seek help. Other than that it was a nice trip though!

> 3 dayThis can is supposed to vent itself as temp changes. A plastic can will expand in warm weather then cave in when temps drop. I bought this to prevent that from happening. I was wrong. This can did the same thing only did not go back to original shape. It caved in where the handle attaches to can. Now handle is bent. Still works well just bent. I would not spend the Money to buy another one.

> 3 dayBought can originally for diesel fuel. After ordering I realized my tractor manufacturer specifically warns against diesel fuel in galvanized can. Product is nonreturnable, so I use it for gasoline for my zero turn mower. I dont store gas in this can. I make sure to use it first when I fill my gas cans. They warn against storing gasoline in galvanized cans also because of the zinc. Nice can, easy to use. Not for storage.

19-04-2025I have one gas station within easy driving range that sells gasoline with no ethanol, which I understand is good for lawn mowers. And, I just got a new badass Honda mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine, and I dont want to mess it up. I finally got tired of cheap, plastic gas cans. I never totally trusted them anyway. Thankfully I found this all-metal super safe can here, and I bought one. Now I can drive to this gas station and get the perfect gas for my beautiful new lawn mower, and not have to worry about a cheap, sketchy plastic gas can. In fact, the first time I went to get mower gas with this, another guy at the gas station who was fueling his car noticed it and asked me where I got it. Its a bit of money up front, but the peace of mind is priceless.

Greater than one weekIm reviewing this gas can as it compares to standard plastic CA compliant cans that are available at auto parts stores and home improvement centers. Compared to those plastic cans, this can is an absulute 5 star product. Firstly, you do have to assemble the hose on the can with a gasket and two screws. I used gasket sealer on the gasket and firmly tightened, but not OVER tightened, the screws. The gasket can smash too much and crack/tear, so dont over tighten the screws. Filling at the gas station was very easy. Just pop the fill cap and off you go. I had the can in the trunk of my car and didnt smell any gas when I got home. I used the can to add gas to my truck, and it worked great. Not a drop was spilled on the can emptied quickly. One note: In order to get all the gas out of the can, you eventually have to turn it upside down. Dont do this too early though, because the weight of the remaining fuel will open the fill cap and you will spill. Once the fuel level gets low enough it cant force the cap open and you can then fully empty the can. The can is nice and sturdy and looks good. The lever to open the valve is sturdy and easy to use.
