24-11-2024A well-designed, easy-to-use can, although the aluminum pour spout seems fragile. I purchased a couple of these cans after finding the Eagle cans to be hard to use and leaky. These cans have a completely engineered, cast metal pour valve/filler assembly that is bolted to the top of the can. The pour valve works and feels a lot like a gas-pump nozzle, allowing easy adjustment of the flow of fuel from the can. For those wanting a very fast pour rate, the venting of the can is also done at the pour valve, so you cant just tip the can all the way over and expect a fast pour (which I dont need in most cases anyway) -- you have to tip the can appropriately for its fullness, like pouring from an iced-tea pitcher. The spout seems to be made of thin aluminum, and Im afraid if I bend it too many times, it wont hold its shape, or may break or leak. (It IS orderable as a replacement part, which is good.) I wish they would offer a flexible rubber or vinyl version, perhaps with a metal wire braid over it. Both of my cans failed to hold a vapor-tight seal, but I was able to correct that by removing a little flash in the seam of the casting around the filler hole using a small chainsaw file (this should have been done at the factory). Theyve sealed perfectly ever since. The good: - strong, welded construction - holds a tight seal - easy to operate (just squeeze), well-engineered, cast metal valve design - replacement spouts in choice of diameters available The bad: - spout does not seem as durable as the rest of the can Whatever: - mine were made in China -- wish it was USA (and some have reported that newer ones are) - I did have to correct minor manufacturing carelessness (described above) to get the cans to seal tightly - the spouts cannot be removed quickly (screws hold them on), so I transport them to the gas station with the spouts attached, and try to be careful not to damage them in the car Recommended. I prefer these cans to Eagles, and plan to buy more. I wish/hope theyre made in USA again.

> 3 dayDoesn’t leak or vent gas smell in SUV cabin. You can leave in hot car all day and not have car smell of gas. Get gas while on way to work or other errands, and not worry about having your car smell of gas. Saves me dedicated trips to only the gas station. Bought 10 cans for me and 2 Sons. Mistakenly ordered wrong size, and reordered wanted size and stuck with 3 extra cans as can’t return gas cans.

> 3 dayI bought two of these. They arrived in a timely fashion, were packed well, and seem well built. One advantage of the type II can is that the pour spout and the fill cap are separate, making filling easier than some of the type I cans. One of the two cans was missing the spout though the carton appeared to be factory sealed. After trying to chat with 4 different representatives and repeating my situation to each of them (well, not the one who came bubbling to my assistance in Spanish, which I dont speak), the resolution was to refund my money, though I am not allowed to return this item for some reason. This seems a silly way to resolve missing parts and only raises the cost for all of us on future purchases. And I am left, for the moment with only one usable product rather than two. I recall that I ordered two as I needed both of them. At any rate, the product seems to be well thought out and well built, but this is not the type of service I have come to expect from Amazon.

> 3 dayThis product puts all the plastic gas tanks to shame. The handles are easy and the flow control handle makes a tight seal. Shut off the fuel while holding it without spilling a drop. Excellent. I wish Id bought this years ago instead of throw away plastic containers that always leak and make mess when dispensing gas.

Greater than one weekI haven’t gotten to use my justrite kero type 2 five gallon cans yet. Still waiting on my kero heater to come in. However, I have used my diesel and gas of the same type and size. We lost power a few weeks ago and used year old gas that was kept in my type 2. It didn’t even smell bad or varnishy. I never had fuel smell in my garage even in the height of the summer’s heat. Not sure if good storage stretches shelf life or not. The nozzle and valve mechanism are easy to use and don’t require a funnel. Don’t have to deal with cheep difficult to operate plastic enviro-nozzle bloated plastic cans. Worth the $85 to me.

> 3 dayOriginally purchased a couple of these cans (7250120) with the 5/8 dia hose a few years ago and mainly use them to fill up the tank on my PWC. The cans were about half the price a few years ago, but Ive liked them so much that Ive just bought a couple more (despite being about 2x what I paid previously), but this time with the 1 dia hose (7250130). I definitely recommend the 1 dia hose for faster flow as long as the equipment you are filling up can accommodate the larger diameter hose. And if you have the 7250120 with the 5/8 dia hose, you can purchase the 1 dia hose separately and easily swap it out. It does make a considerable difference in the flow rate.

> 3 dayFlawless! After every type of crappy plastic can and leaky hard to use spout this setup is worth the stretch on price. Excellent design.

> 3 dayWhy is it one can buy a brand new gas can shipped in a sturdy cardboard box and the can has a dent in it? Dont think it will affect anything as it is not a deep one, but this is just a guess: We can pawn off the dented ones online as they have no recourse... we can sell the not dented ones inside stores as they wont buy the dented. Not cool.

> 3 dayArrived with a dent in the bottom, even though the package was unmarred. That tells me it was probably shipped already damaged. Other than that it seems like it will work well, although the handle to open the valve is harder to hold open than I thought it would be. I refuse to ever spend another dollar on those cheap plastic cans that make you press the nozzle down against the tank opening to start the fuel flow. This system is leak proof and imminently more sturdy and secure than the plastic alternative. I use similar cans (http://www.amazon.com/Eagle-UI-50-FS-Galvanized-Gasoline-Capacity/dp/B00004Y75M/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1417295006&sr=8-5&keywords=fuel+can) for all my 2 cycle and 4 cycle gasoline requirements as well. 12/30/2014 I wanted to add that after the first couple of uses, I like it even more and decided to raise it from 4 stars to 5. To refuel my tractor, I have to climb up and over the front end loader, which is a very precarious position to be that far off the ground. I found that with this can, I can lay it down on the edge of the hood, and as long as I can shape the nozzle to fit in the tank, I can pour fuel without spilling a drop. even upside down, the can holds the fuel in and remains leak free. All I have to do is tug the handle to start the fuel flow, and if I or the can slip, release the handle, and even if I drop it all the way to the ground, will not spill a drop. Definitely worth the purchase price!

22-11-2024This is a sturdy fuel can. The fill cap spring is strong and seals tight, and even though it makes filling the can difficult, I think that its necessary in order to prevent leakage. I found that I need to hold the can in place using my feet with one hand holding the cap open and the other hand pumping the gas when filling. Now to the reason I only gave it 4 stars. On my first use I needed to pour a specific amount of gas into a measuring container for accurate mixing with oil. I found very small (red) paint chips and particles in the poured gas. Though my equipment has fuels filters, its still not a good thing to get debris in the tanks. It probably got there during the manufacturing process and many people who use it to fill directly into their equipment would never know of its presence.
