> 3 dayIf youre like me, and youre frustrated with those EPA compliant plastic cans that have resulted in more spilt gas than the old unregulated ones, this is (finally) progress that works. Wide stable base. Flexible spout and easily-controlled vent allow pouring where you want it. Several have commented about no cover for the spout, which could allow dust and/or insects into the spout. I use a silicone rubber stopper to plug the spout opening. I inserted a small brass eyelet into the plug and attached the plug to the can so that it doesnt get lost. Should last a long time.

> 3 dayIf you hate dealing with new style gas cans and wish you find something as good as the old style, well this is even better. I bought one for my father, and I use it as much as he does. He had been complaining about the venting on new cans and I found this one. Talk about a perfect gas can. It wont dispense until you pull the release next to the handle, so there is no chance of spilling gas while you tilt the can to get the nozzle into the fuel tank you intend to refill. It is commercial grade, so unless you run it over with a vehicle, I cant see it ever failing.

> 3 dayI have had many plastic gas can over the years, and always had issues with them, leaking around the fill cap, fiddling around with new safety gadgets and so on. No more. I bought this Justrite to avoid any issues. Now I can simply fill it and refuel my garden equipment without losing or spilling a drop and with ease. The can is very easy to hold, the filling spout is flexible and the built in handle is also the flow control valve. Grab it to open the flow valve, let go to close it. This can is sturdy and will definitely last a lifetime. The 5 gallon capacity is great as well. In the long run, I will save money as I wont have to keep buying new cans. This is the last. I highly recommend it anyone and it gets 5 stars from me.

> 3 dayThese cans while expensive are so much better than plastic home center cans. They don’t leak and control gas flow with the valve. Most importantly they don’t have some cheap plastic safety mechanism that somehow always squirts gas out of the mechanism all over you (for safety of course, seriously 3 different plastic cans have done this to me one of which I just accepted before I found these cans and got regular gasoline baths for a year)

> 3 dayIts embarrassing to be at a service station, filling a plastic gasoline can and have it crack on you, leaking gas everywhere. This metal can is built to last decades.... the squeeze handle valve is easy to use and you wont be spilling before you can get the its hose in the gas tank.... get it in, then squeeze the valve handle... you wont spill a drop. Filling the can up takes some patience.... go a little bit slow so the screen doesnt bubble up the gas, or take the screen out... the cap is hinged with a spring so it will clamp down when you pull-out the filling station hose. Worth the money....

> 3 dayI didnt want to really spend the money for this can but I was tired of having problems with the plastic containers. I bought a plastic container recently and I had to move a small lever and then hold down another one to pour the gas. It was supposed to lock in place but broke the first time I used it. Since I put gas in the container I couldnt return it. If I had three hands it might be easier to use it. The Justrite container is very well made and easy to use. The release handle for pouring gas is right next to the carrying handle and is very convenient. The flexible metal spout is also easier to use than trying to bend the plastic spouts. I wish I had done more research and spent my money on this one in the first place. If youre happy with the plastic containers then so be it. If you have problems with them, as I did, I recommend this container. Not related to the product but I bought this from Amazon and received it very quickly. No problems with packaging or delivery.

Greater than one weekIve tried a dozen different plastic gas cans, all of which were difficult and extremely slow to fill an automobile. I was between the JustRite cans and Nato Jerry cans before this purchase, and here is why I went with 2 JustRite cans over a single NATO: 1. Flexible spout. - Holy cow this makes filling your car from a variety of angles super easy. 2. Vent release. - Most NATO cans will bang and bulge. A friend can hear his popping throughout his entire house during summer. 3. Wont fall over during (reasonable) transport - its 5 gal, it could tip if you take a hard turn, but NATO cans must be laid on their side, which encourages them to slide around and leak. 4. Great nozzle while being Carb Compliant. - NATO cans with plastic Carb-Compliant spouts suck as much as the plastic gas cans. And the NON-compliant have no way to control flow speed and can splash while getting in position or moving. 5. No assembling of the nozzle every...single...time. No more gas on your hands and feet. Unless you have a JEEP with actual NATO gas can holders mounted on them... BUY THIS CAN INSTEAD.

> 3 dayI was using a very old plastic 1 gallon can that the cap split on. When I was looking at spending $60 + on a gas can, I myself thought I was crazy; it pained me to cough up the money for something as simple as a gas can. After looking at what the big box stores had available, and even online I came came to the conclusion I would just spend the money on a can that I hoped to last me for life. Originally, I was looking to purchase one of the Surecan gas cans with the pivoting spout on the bottom; but for only $12 more I figured a all metal construction can that meets OSHA safety standards was worth the extra money for me. I am very satisfied with this can, its built like a tank - the spring tension on the fill lid is very strong no joke, but it’s made that way to seal well, and seal it does. When I filled it up with fuel the first time with non-ethanol fuel; on the way back home after several stops, I could not smell gas whatsoever in the car, I also cannot smell any fuel in the garage as well. I bought the 5/8 spout model, and I find it to be great for what I have to use it for; have no problem with fuel flow too, I was able to fill a push mower in what seemed like seconds even with the small spout. The handle to dispense fuel is by far easier than anything I have used before specially the EPA push nozzles that are a pain to use. The only con if you could call it that was during the painting process something got on the can as you can see in the second picture. Highly recommended, you know the old saying you truly get what you pay for; well this item is a testament to that.

> 3 dayCan appears to have high potential and is made is what appears to be quality components; however, the finish condition of the can is questionable. Two photos of the can itself show sharp dent marks which likely are places where the can is gripped by a factory assembly machine while the top mechanism is attached. There is also one similar mark on the bottom which is not photographed. The vertical side seam is also slightly uneven. Im keeping the can because I just dont want the hassle of return because I doubt if any of these issues will actually allow a leak. If it leaks at first fill, Ill deal with Justrite rather than Amazon. My wife also pointed out that the fill cover lid spring is quite strong which I pointed out is for the purpose of sealing the can from air and/or escape of vapors. She thinks the finger/hand strength required to lift that lid while inserting a gas nozzle could be an annoyance for her. My local small engine repair shop showed me the kind of plastic can they recommend/sell is the best. I didnt listen because I wanted a metal can; Ive had an Eagle can for the past 40+ years which isnt a regulation can by todays standards but I didnt want the Eagle can because of the plastic handle top mechanism. The finish quality of the Justrite can has made me rethink. Oh well, its done! May update this review after a month of use if I have a leaker or my wifes complaints remain.
