Greater than one weekExcellent Quality. Does not drip. Very happy with purchase! The lid that needs to be lifted to fill with gasoline could be difficult for the elderly or those with bad arthritis.

Greater than one weekStop messing around with plastic inferior gas cans and buy one of these and forget about it! This can is built like a tank and surely will outlive all of us. This is the gas can you hand down. You leave this thing in your will. It’s that good. Plus it’s not expensive when you think about it. Add up how many of those cheap plastic cans you’ve purchased for $15-20 or more not to mention replacement nozzles that always break which are $7 each or more and you could have bought one of these. I can think of 3 myself @$20x3 plus 2 nozzles at $7/ea. = $74. Now add your time and your safety. This can is a no brainer. I should have bought one YEARS ago.

19-04-2025I bought 2 of these Justrite 5 gal. gasoline cans a few months ago. They do not leak (so far) and seem very sturdy. I like that my gas storage has been improved by these cans because I store up up to 25 gallons in my home garage. I was able to fill them easily and quickly at my local Costco. I gave them 4 stars because I have had to learn to gauge them carefully to keep from overfilling my equipment due to the residual gasoline in the spout after I close the flow. But once you know what to do, you just have to keep a close eye on the fill.

> 3 dayI have had many plastic gas can over the years, and always had issues with them, leaking around the fill cap, fiddling around with new safety gadgets and so on. No more. I bought this Justrite to avoid any issues. Now I can simply fill it and refuel my garden equipment without losing or spilling a drop and with ease. The can is very easy to hold, the filling spout is flexible and the built in handle is also the flow control valve. Grab it to open the flow valve, let go to close it. This can is sturdy and will definitely last a lifetime. The 5 gallon capacity is great as well. In the long run, I will save money as I wont have to keep buying new cans. This is the last. I highly recommend it anyone and it gets 5 stars from me.

> 3 dayBy far this is the best gas can I’ve found. I own two of them. Bought one liked it so well I bought a second one. There easy to use but built like a tank. I’ll never own those plastic gas cans again. Buy one of these and you won’t be disappointed. You get what you pay for really applies here.

> 3 dayIndustrial quality and then some. By happenstance I manufacture retail gasoline dispensers, but like everyone else have mowers and other power equipment and therefore must store gasoline at home. These have every safety care and concern incorporated for a fuel storage vessel. Gauge of metal, proper color, integral flame arrestor, sealed against vapor egress, normally-closed dispensing valve, stable wide base, metal-to-metal contact with the dispensing nozzle when filling thereby grounding this can via the UL-mandated grounded dispenser nozzle. The manufacturer doesnt cut corners. Worth every penny. This can isnt over-and-above, its as flammable liquid storage should be. Always place on concrete when dispensing fuel into any portable container. Never place on a plastic surface, truck bed liner, trunk carpet, or any insulated surface. Filling a vessel creates a Van De Graaff generator. The static charge must bleed somewhere. Send it to earth.

> 3 dayIve owned a few of the plastic variety gas cans over the years and just assumed a gas can was a gas can: they leak when you use them, they smell because they are not air tight and the fade and look crappy after a few years. Justrite completely changed my opinion! Not only are these classy looking gas cans, they are extremely functional. It is a large can and can be a bit awkward to use when full, but that is about the only negative I can think of. Ive transported the can in the cab of my truck and barely noticed any gas smell (yes, barely - it IS a gas can after all, but nothing like a plastic can). They clean up nicely if you dribble a little gas when filling and they are built for the long haul. Its hard to sit here and praise a gas can, but Justrite makes one whale of a gas can. I bought two: this 5 gal. one and a smaller 1 gal. for 2-stroke mix. Definitely worth the price!
