> 3 dayEdit, The can has been sealing and now stops pouring when handle is released. I didnt change anything but its is working. I might be buying again. Holds gas, check Spring fill top, check Stops pouring when handle is released, no check.... Yup, if this can tips its gonna be messy. I thought it worked the first time but now Im not sure it ever sealed. Flex spout is great to set in the fill and not spill but you need to pick the can back upright to make it stop trickling out. Not so good to fill small equipment with now. Worse is that the can doesnt have a proper seal for long term (over winter) storage. Not good for this cans price point. Will see if return is possible. Too bad I was thinking of updating all my older plastic cans to this style over time.

> 3 dayThis is by far the best gas can I’ve ever used, easy to pour and control the flow, I think the bad reviews about the container are souly operator error. Highly recommend, this can will last me for years to come!

> 3 dayEven bore the new EPA spouts on plastic cans I wasnt a fan. I used steel cans at work in college and always preferred them but felt I couldnt afford the price. Now between a snowblower and zero-turn mower I use about 3 gallons of gas a week and was sick of my plastic cans leaking (old style) or pouring slowly (new style). Plus, with a small child Ive become more safety conscious. Steel cans are less likely to by knocked over, leak less when knocked over, have spark arrestors and are safer when exposed to heat. Plus, theyre just a pleasure to use with the flexible spout and the squeeze-to-open feature. I wish Id bought one 15 years ago.

Greater than one weekPaying over $100 for a gas can because you’re tired of leaks and issues with the plastic ones, it’s really annoying that this one ended up leaking also. Pin holes have developed along the bottom of the can. It literally mists gas and I had to replace it.

Greater than one weekThis safety can does exactly what it should plain and simple. Only thing you have to do before using is screw in the hose and cork gasket to the can. The spring loaded cap for filling has a strong spring keeping it closed and made me confident it wasnt going to leak if tipped or inverted. This is the most I have spent on a fuel can but it also without question the best and only can I have ever owned to actually not spill fuel when pouring it out. This will outlive any plastic can I have ever bought no doubt at all. Will buy again if I need more.

> 3 dayI purchased two of the Justrite cans to use while pulling my RV on long-distance trips. I wanted a good quality can since they would be sitting in an exposed truck bed. They worked well but I have a few small issues: 1) The 5/8in spout on this model fits in the gas opening on the truck, but its not long enough to completely empty the contents because you have to turn the can completely upside down. I ended up purchasing a large funnel which I hoped to avoid by getting the 5/8in spout. 2) Theres quite a bit of travel in the fuel release lever, requiring it to be completely depressed before its open. It would be nice if it would open the valve with less effort. 3) One of my cans came with a dent in the lower lip. I decided to keep it but better packaging in the bottom of the box would prevent this.

> 3 dayI haven’t gotten to use my justrite kero type 2 five gallon cans yet. Still waiting on my kero heater to come in. However, I have used my diesel and gas of the same type and size. We lost power a few weeks ago and used year old gas that was kept in my type 2. It didn’t even smell bad or varnishy. I never had fuel smell in my garage even in the height of the summer’s heat. Not sure if good storage stretches shelf life or not. The nozzle and valve mechanism are easy to use and don’t require a funnel. Don’t have to deal with cheep difficult to operate plastic enviro-nozzle bloated plastic cans. Worth the $85 to me.

> 3 dayCan appears to have high potential and is made is what appears to be quality components; however, the finish condition of the can is questionable. Two photos of the can itself show sharp dent marks which likely are places where the can is gripped by a factory assembly machine while the top mechanism is attached. There is also one similar mark on the bottom which is not photographed. The vertical side seam is also slightly uneven. Im keeping the can because I just dont want the hassle of return because I doubt if any of these issues will actually allow a leak. If it leaks at first fill, Ill deal with Justrite rather than Amazon. My wife also pointed out that the fill cover lid spring is quite strong which I pointed out is for the purpose of sealing the can from air and/or escape of vapors. She thinks the finger/hand strength required to lift that lid while inserting a gas nozzle could be an annoyance for her. My local small engine repair shop showed me the kind of plastic can they recommend/sell is the best. I didnt listen because I wanted a metal can; Ive had an Eagle can for the past 40+ years which isnt a regulation can by todays standards but I didnt want the Eagle can because of the plastic handle top mechanism. The finish quality of the Justrite can has made me rethink. Oh well, its done! May update this review after a month of use if I have a leaker or my wifes complaints remain.
