> 3 dayI am an old-old guy who reads constantly in a variety of situations throughout the day and evening: in snack bars, waiting rooms, fast-food joints, coffee shops, book stores, library lounges, and other such venues, where lighting varies and cannot be counted on to be bright enough for easy reading. Moreover, at one time or another I use all of the major-brand e-readers. As a result, I need a primary or auxiliary light that is small enough to be carried conveniently in a shirt pocket; that fastens securely to all my readers in either portrait or landscape position; that is stable once attached; that spreads light fairly evenly over a six inch page; that is bright; that is powered by small, easily available batteries; that is priced competitively; that is backed by a reputable company dedicated to customer service. After trying many brands of clip-on lights, in several styles, I found that on balance, the Ozeri II reading light meets my specific needs, not only best, but well enough to warrant five stars.

> 3 dayWhile most book lights for the Kindles have a clip and a swan-neck scoping out of it with a light attached, this is a more compact version that works equally well and illuminates the page but is more compact for travel. I have 3 versions of the Kindle and an ipad and it fits all 3. Better yet, there is no telescoping bendable neck that you have to mold into place each time you clip it on then reposition after you take it off and put it back on again because it would move if kept in a bag or suitcase or even during removal. This can stay clipped on and always be at hand when needed without getting in the way as my other lights have. It adjusts to the size of your e-reader, whatever it may be. And its apparently quite sturdy because UPS banged the heck out of this package and even put holes in it and it came out of the package unscathed. that is a good test for the airlines of how it will handle travel.

> 3 dayI was really surprised after receiving the Kandle II on their attention to quality and detail. The packaging was really well done. They provide a little tool, an extra set of batteries, and a nice carrying case for the device. I was concerned when I saw it online that any light attached to my Kindle would cause a significant weight burden and make holding my device less comfortable. I dont know what materials this Kandle is made out of, but it is LIGHT. I have no issues attaching it and reading on my Kindle. The other thing is that it provides nice little felt like protection on the grip so there are no scratches onto the Kindle. The 2 light settings are interesting. I read with either one depending on my eyes sensitivity to light. There is a light drop off which is to be expected, but I am able to read perfectly fine. I really like the device and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to read when its dark. Also the graphite color matches my Kindle.

Greater than one weekthe brightness is crap! even on high. low setting is useless. too dim to read in the dark using just this light. i love the design - especially that it folds flush for travel and the graphite is a perfect match for my kindle 3 but it eats through the CR2032 (button cell) batteries and you need a mini screwdriver (supplied) to open up the battery door. very disappointed. perhaps if you dont like/need a lot of light to read by - because plenty of reviewers rave about this product - then try. but i dont like to have to strain my eyes. will have to try another type, perhaps the M edge light that uses AAA batteries (which are more easily available when travelling).

> 3 dayThis is a terrific product. It lights up the whole screen, its so easily adjustable and theres virtually no glare. And theres no light on a pole that you have to move out of the way. I also discovered that it makes a handy little flashlight if youre looking for the bathroom in a strange house. Im very pleased with this purchase and I love the extra batteries and the little carrying case too! It seems to be very sturdy and the price was more than reasonable. Its a great value for the money. I took off one star (would have only taken a half if I could) because it could use a little more tension on the clamp. It didnt fall off for me, but it did move around and slide down onto the very top of the reading surface a few times. There was no real inconvenience here, just a little anxiety that it would fall off if I moved too fast. Update: After going back and reading some other reviews, Id like to clarify a few things. I paid $19.95 for this light, not the $39.99 price listed, so I found it to be a good bargain. Id also like to point out that some of the cons mentioned in other reviews have been fixed on the one I have. A screwdriver is no longer required (or provided) for changing the batteries and the the light shuts off automatically now when the unit is closed. This tells me that the manufacturer is paying attention and sincerely dedicated to producing a quality product. For that reason, Ive updated this to five stars.

> 3 dayI have a lot of hard cover books so I tried the kandle II on a couple of them and was surprised that it worked so well. It did not slip off the book and lit up both pages. The light was placed on the front side cover for about 180 pages and then I placed it on the back cover for the remaining 160 pages. I then tried the light on my new Kindle and it lit up the whole screen without any shadows. These tests were done in a dark walk in closet and the results were excellent. Easy on the eyes. Excellent construction and light weight. I have tried other clip on lights in the past with no good results but this one beats them all. I also attached it to the side of my laptop to light up the key board so that when I am riding in the car at night I do not need to keep the over head light on to see the key board. I will have to buy 3 more for the rest of my family as find this very handy.

20-11-2024This little Kandle gives off great light and the battery lasts for quite a while. My only complaints are about the design. It is very easy to accidentally turn the light on when moving it around. The on button is in the same place you put your fingers to squeeze open the clip. In addition, it is difficult to access the compartment to change the batteries. Otherwise, I would have given the Kandle 5 stars.

> 3 dayNice book light. It puts out plenty of light for reading, I think both the semi-bright and full bright work well in poorly lit reading areas. The only complaint I have is that the reading light is a little loose on my Kindle. While adjusting the light if its not held firmly, the whole thing kind of moves around but once youve got everything the way you want it, it stays put.

25-11-2024I have a keyboard model Kindle that I use alot. However. it has always been difficult to read at night or on a plane. I purchased a leather case with a built in light but it only covered the top half of my page and not that well. Then I purchased a clip on small halogen light that was guarenteed to cover the page. Wrong! I was going to just forget about a light when I saw the Kandle. I decided to give it one last try, and purchased one to take on my lastest holiday. I was very excited when I found it had an adjustable head to ensure ligt covers the entire page, and it has to setting for brightness! It works great for night time reading or reading on a plane. I am very pleased and satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend this ligt to anyone using a Kindle!

> 3 dayIm really impressed with the way this little book light illuminates the screen of the Kindle. The three white LEDs distribute the light very evenly, and, while its a tiny bit brighter near the light source, there is no glare off the Kindles screen whatsoever, which is perfect for nocturnal reading. This light has two power settings, although there isnt much difference in brightness between the two. The lowest setting is more than adequate for situations in which a book light is needed. The light is compact and lightweight, and doesnt really affect the readability of the Kindle. Holding the Kindle with the light attached is still well balanced. My only issue, if it can be called that, is that the back clip could be a half inch or so longer to accommodate the beveled edges of the back of the Kindle. As it is, the light doesnt feel as though its clipped on as securely as it could be. Thats just a nit, however. The best workaround for this issue is to not toss your Kindle around. Otherwise, this light is an absolute joy to use. If youre on the fence about which book light to buy, you should definitely consider this one.
