> 24 hourBought a lamp which needed specialty bulbs recently so I couldnt use smart bulbs in it. It was also super bright even with only 15w bulbs. This dimmer was the perfect thing - I love that you can set max brightness levels and choose which percentages corrospond to which brightnesses (it lets you mark what 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% should look like) so that when you give smart home commands, its easy to choose exactly how they look on your exact fixture. This was super helpful because with the lamp being too bright, I was able to make some percentages less bright, and then made 25% brighter because it was too dim after adjusting. This dimmer is really perfect for specialty fixtures! Also cant wait to get another when I have outdoor cafe lights.

> 24 hourIve installed numerous TP-Link Kasa smart plugs and switches to integrate my home lighting with my Alexa Echos and Show 8 as well as my Ring doorbells and cameras. Im amazed at how well all these different systems work together. I needed an outdoor smart plug to control both some outside Christmas lights as well as a bird bath heater. This Kasa Smart K400 Outdoor Smart Plug works perfectly. Since the two outlets on the plug can be controlled independently, I plugged my heated bird bath into one and my Christmas lights into the other. I especially like the Kasa Android app, which allows you to easily set what time you want the lights to come on and go off. You can also set it to come on at Sunset (or a prescribed number of minutes before or after sunset) (similarly with Sunrise). You can set different times for each day of the week if you want. A very nice and easy to use app. Installation of the Smart Plug was also very straightforward with step-by-step guidance from the app. For my heated bird bath, I set up a routine using the If This Then That (IFTTT) app. I set the heater to turn on if the outside temperature drops below 35 deg F and turn off if the outside temp goes above 35 deg F. One thing to be aware of - the Kasa outlet must not be limited to Local control if you want outside apps such as IFTTT to work with it. For some reason, my outdoor smart plug reverted to local control and there is no obvious way to get out of this state using the app. After researching this on the web, the one solution that seemed to work was to assign the smart plug a reserved DHCP IP address on your home router. I did this and then reset the switch. All works fine now. Bottom line is this is a waterproof outdoor smart outlet that works well, has an easy to use and very flexible controlling app, and integrates nicely into the smart house ecosystem (at least with Alexa, Google Home, and IFTTT which are the ones Ive tried). I would gladly buy this again if I need another one.

> 24 hourMy wife and I have suffered in a living room with terrible lighting for years. Because we rent, we cant install most ceiling lights, and have got by with crummy side lamps. We finally had the bright (ha) idea to buy a dimmable plug-in pendant light, this dimmer outlet, and to run the cables inside an adhesive raceway across the ceiling. Game changer. Not only has our little vampire den been cleansed with healing light, the dimmer functionality and Alexa integration has made it both convenient and versatile. Kasa has nailed it with their very intuitive app for configuring their smart devices, and my only regret is that we did not find this sooner.

> 24 hourGot this to run some outdoor string lights. It was easy to connect via the app and Alexa. It will turn on the lights and dim them as expected. I dont really use the app but it seems ok. Alexa voice control works perfectly. Seems well built but if you it is out by the time you read this I would get the KP401M for the Matter support. But this works well enough on my current Smart home setup.

> 24 hourThe title says most of it. Simply add it to your home automation environment using the TP-Link app and Alexa automatically recognizes it. We use it for outdoor Christmas lights, plugged into a weather proof, permanently mounted outside, GFCI receptacle. We’re saving energy since it replaced an old fashioned inside permanently mounted commercial grade mechanical motorized timer in a steel box. That old timer’s motor used electricity 24 hours a day to run during the Christmas Season. The TP-Link smart plug itself works great and is bulletproof reliable, even recovering reliably from power outages. And while its Kasa App is friendly and reliable, we do no use the Kasa app timer function for our Christmas Lights. We use an Alexa App “Routine” to turn the lights on 40 minutes before sunset and off at 1:30am... and then back on an hour before sunrise and off 25 minutes after sunrise. If we ever wish to turn them on or off on demand, we simply say “Alexa, turn on Christmas Lights”... and both our Christmas tree (also on a TP-Link plug) and outdoor lights come on. If we only want outdoor lights, we add “outdoor” before “Christmas”... or if we only want the Tree, we add “tree” after “Christmas”. (When adding the plugs, we named them “Outdoor Christmas Lights” and “Christmas Tree Lights”.) Minor CON: That rubber receptacle cover flap is not tethered to the smart plug if you’re using both outlets, rendering it easy to lose. We’ll always be using both receptacles so not a big deal to us. An aside: after we bought this TP-Link Outdoor Smart Plug, another Alexa-compatible Smarthome brand we use, Wyze, announced a double outlet outdoor receptacle for half the price we paid for this TP-Link plug. That Wyze plug adds a photoelectric sensor that can be used to automatically (autonomously from WiFi) control the lights. However, since we prefer to use the Alexa Sunrise/Sunset controls to have the lights on only for a period time before and after those events, we would not use that sensor. Having the lights on all night would waste energy. Furthermore, with the firehouse of new products tiny company Wyze has been releasing, they appear to be straining to maintain the wonderfulness of their previously core product Wyze Cam v2. TP-Link Smarthome products are just plain reliable.

> 24 hourI just bought a house with a pool this winter. When I was opening the pool up for the first time, the pool guy recommended I get an electrician to come out and set up some thing to coordinate a schedule, or I will have to either remember to come out twice a day to turn my pool pump on/off or have it running 24/7. Hiring an electrician to set up some new system = $$$ Buying this thingamajig = like $15 SUPER EASY to set up. I set up a schedule on my phone and forgot about it. It does everything it needs to do. The outlet its plugged into is outdoors, and its been going strong with no issues for months. With this heatwave, I want to be perfectly sure my pool is clean and ready for swimming, so I can set up temporary schedules or manually turn it on or off from my phone within seconds, from anywhere. And since I typically dont have my phone with me by the pool, the button allows you to manually control it as well. I dont use Alexa often because the voice-command system kind of creeps me out still (I only ever use it if Im cooking, my hands are dirty, and I need to know like a measurement conversion or something), BUT I tried it out once just to see if it would work and it did. All I can say about that. Im thinking of buying more for outdoor lights.

> 24 hourReceived this plug a few weeks ago, and have been using it for outdoor holiday lights. Packaging and everything was nice, and Kasa makes set up a breeze. Only slight quirk is that its got a pretty stiff cable, so not the easiest to get it set to an angle you want, or to do any cable management with. overall: Good quality, good experience, would order again if I had more use cases for it.

> 24 hourWe recently moved to an apartment with a large balcony. This plug works perfectly with our Alexa and the lights we purchased. Love how you can control how dim or bright you want it by a command.
