> 3 daySo, neither directions in both the Kasa app and the Alexa app or online with TP-Link work. Basically, I had to fumble around in both apps until they merged. Try what I did, open both apps and add TP-Link Kasa to Alexa, open the Kasa app and try to add 3rd party control. Pray, and continue futzing with it. No I idea how, nor could I replicate it if I had to. Total crap directions, very frustrating. It does work now though by some miracle of luck.

> 3 dayI schedule my lights to fade in after sunset, which looks really nice. I didn’t do my homework and found out it wasn’t HomeKit compatible upon arrival, which is mostly why I got it. But also, the Kasa ecosystem has been pretty acceptable to I’m not too worried about being stuck with their app for this device.

> 3 dayI have multiple Kasa products and used them for several years. I have not had any problems with these products and love the features. I would love to see an emergency button on the app that turns on all connected lights. This would be great to help public safety responders locate you residence or scaring away criminals.

> 3 dayA quick note for anyone installing this outside - Dont forget to use some Dielectric Grease on both the cord and the plug to help prevent water intrusion and corrosion of the metal. Pros - Super fast response time - Good wifi reception - Corded design doesnt block outlets and allows use in covered boxes - Status indicator light is useful for troubleshooting - Local Switch is really handy to have when testing or when internet is down - Low standby voltage Cons - 300 Watts is the max load and that is not very many incandescent lights (for example, 3 strings of bistro lights with 12 lights per string is around 400 Watts) - Requires the internet to function remotely. I have been waiting for Kasa to come out with some pluggable dimmers for a long time. I was super excited when I saw this product become available. I have at least 30 other Kasa products in my home that I have been happy with. I put this to use right away controlling 45ft of incandescent rope light I have installed around my front porch and it did a great job. The rope lights are 4 watts per foot for a total of about 180 watts (estimated). The dimmer had no problem with them. I would like to see a big brother to this with the ability to handle up to 1000 Watts of incandescent load so it could be used on my bistro lights. I would also like to see Kasa come out with some indoor pluggable dimmer modules.

> 3 dayDespite being “#1 Best Seller in Plug-In Dimmers“ according to this site, this device does not, in fact, dim. Not this company’s fault though so I’m giving it 5 stars as a fine smart on/off switch but returning it tomorrow.

> 3 dayI was having difficulty with setting up the smart switch on the internet. The support rep, Hanson did a great job helping me figure out where I had made a mistake. The switch works like a charm. The software is easy to use. I love it!

> 3 dayI use them for string lights in the backyard and clear Christmas lights on bushes for accent. They’re excellent for this use. The only negative: Alexa can’t find any grouped items. If you group something and ask her to switch it, she complains that the item can’t be located. She can find every device, but no group names.

> 3 dayI was able to use my Kasa app to automate turning my two lamps on at dusk at %18 then off at 11. Since I wanted to use the Edison Bulbs for they decorative purpose, i choose these, and they fit the bill.

Greater than one weekThis works really well. The amperage of my motor is about 13 amps and I have had no problems with the 15 amp smart plug. I wish I would have bought a double smart plug since both can be programmed differently.
