> 3 dayId give this 5 Stars if it werent for quality control issues Klein needs to address. It took three meters before I finally got one that read zero when not reading anything. The first two always read 2-3 percent when turned on and/or not reading anything. I contacted Klein about them not zeroing out and they said they were defective. I assume its a calibration issue which can only be fixed at the factory. That said I love the meter but it was very frustrating to get one that worked correctly.

> 3 daybeing non contact type you have to have any debris wiped away from the test surface and press firmly to get a consistent reading. But overall I think its good value for the money.

> 3 dayWe had seen a clear water stain but it was hard to remember whether or not it was there before. Since we thought it was fresh, we wanted a way to test that would not damage the wall. Picked up this item and within moments after opening the package were able to detect that the stain was fresh. As a result we were able to get repair work underway before the next rain. Awesome tool.

Greater than one weekI do drywall repairs for a living so it’s nice to have something to make sure there is no more moisture before we close at the patches..

> 3 dayBack reading means no making holes in the substance being measured. Hold it flat to the area in question and you get a percentage readout instantly. Slide it around a wall or ceiling and you get instant results. We have an RV and there was a leak in the roof. I needed to know if I had to tear apart the roof or not and if so how much. I hoped to drive the moisture out after sealing up the outside. I opened some ventilation spots and ran a heater. I was able to watch the moisture levels drop until it was OK. I could also see where the problem areas were. These are also good to see what the water content of lumber is. Checking a boat for waterlogged hull. Checking a ceiling for leaks before any damage shows.

> 3 dayIt works well and fast. The display is bright and very readable. The reading seems very reproducible. I am not able to check its absolute accuracy, but a relative comparison with dry area is usually sufficient. The audio beep and bright bar graph both make it easy to quickly determine if there is a problem. I was able to see the reading go down steadily over days as the wood dried out. It feels well made and is easy to use. The one downside is that it takes a screw drive to change the battery, which is inconvenient when I remove the battery for storage.

> 3 dayI bought this meter to help estimate damage while adjusting insurance claims. It seems to work well and is fairly accurate when compared with the ones that the mitigation contractors use. It is not as accurate as the kind that have needles that poke into the material, but it doesnt leave marks on the material.

> 3 dayI HAD A GRAY WATER JOB, SATURATED WALLS AND FLOORING. I TOOK READINGS OF UNAFFECTED AREAS FOR COMPARISON, THE METER READ AS INTENDED ON CONCRETE, HARDWOOD AND DRYWALL. I WAS ABLE TO TRACK AND RECORD THE MOISTURE LEVELS AS THINGS DRIED. I AM 100% SATISFIED WITH ALL OF MY KLEIN TOOLS BUT THIS ONE PAID FOR ITSELF FIRST ASSIGNMENT! AND USE IT OFTEN. PRICEPOINT, QUALITY, EASE OF USE AND PERFORMANCE 5 STARS. THIS ONE STAYS IN THE TOOL BAG
