I have done water damage for years, I bought this as a personal back up. It is easy to work but done tons I get different readings I think it depends on the battery level. However it has gotten me through real life situations and I recommend for the competitive price as a back up.

Bought this item from the warehouse. It is not working properly and the battery that comes with it is almost dead. The tool is shutting off right after a high reading has been taken. Otherwise, it seems like it would be a handy, easy to use, tool.

After hurricane Ian all 11 floors of our beachfront condo were flooded when a roof vent blew off. The Homeowners associating mandated immediate action to remove wet flooring and drywall. I ordered this moisture meter from Amazon and got it the same day. Right after a major hurricane. Amazon is a lifesaver. I was able to measure and mark every wall surface in my unit to determine which had to be ripped out and which could be saved. It is virtually idiot proof. There is a numerical reading of moisture in percentage, as well as a bar graph, and most importantly an audible alarm for excessive readings. Using the audible alarm alone I was able to quickly find wet areas, even when reaching behind furniture or appliances where the display was not visible. I would have rated this product five stars were it not for the useless 9V battery that was shipped with it, which lasted only 2-3 minutes. Luckily I had read that this was the case in other posted reviews, so I took a spare when I used it for the first time. Also as noted in other reviews, the need for a screwdriver to remove and change the battery is a negative design feature.

This is the easiest to use and self explanatory. Seems to be very accurate. I dont build anything without checking the moisture in the materials that Im using. And this has saved me from making a bad product for customers.

I use it for my Handyman projects and have great accurate results.
