> 3 dayCant speak to accuracy, but I used it as a relative measurement device to track down a roof leak

> 3 dayIt works well and fast. The display is bright and very readable. The reading seems very reproducible. I am not able to check its absolute accuracy, but a relative comparison with dry area is usually sufficient. The audio beep and bright bar graph both make it easy to quickly determine if there is a problem. I was able to see the reading go down steadily over days as the wood dried out. It feels well made and is easy to use. The one downside is that it takes a screw drive to change the battery, which is inconvenient when I remove the battery for storage.

> 3 dayInitially it read 0.0% on all drywall. With several battery changes it started working and actually reading pretty accurately. It worked fine for a stretch and is now reading 0.0% again on all drywall. Have changed the battery multiple times hoping to bring it back with no luck. Because of this I would not recommend this product.

17-11-2024Back reading means no making holes in the substance being measured. Hold it flat to the area in question and you get a percentage readout instantly. Slide it around a wall or ceiling and you get instant results. We have an RV and there was a leak in the roof. I needed to know if I had to tear apart the roof or not and if so how much. I hoped to drive the moisture out after sealing up the outside. I opened some ventilation spots and ran a heater. I was able to watch the moisture levels drop until it was OK. I could also see where the problem areas were. These are also good to see what the water content of lumber is. Checking a boat for waterlogged hull. Checking a ceiling for leaks before any damage shows.

> 3 dayApparently I had a bathroom leak that ran into my office, soaking the carpet. My insurance wouldnt cover it and a crew recommended I rip out and replace all the walls for $10k! 1) They didnt even use a machine to see what walls were affected 2) Im a 56 year old female living paycheck to paycheck and dont have that kind of money. I watched some YouTube videos and bought this. I ripped out all the carpet, rented a fan from home depot and used the moisture meter. It showed me exactly what pieces of drywall were dry and which ones were wet and needed to be replaced. I cut out the wet pieces, and replaced them. I kept checking this machines gauge on other things and it is extremely accurate. I later installed tile. Its been a year and I havent had any problems. This saved me big $$!

> 3 dayI use this to test wood from the wood pile before using in our wood stove. I dont know about accuracy, but relatively Im sure its accurate. A heavy piece certainly shows high moisture content. Very light ones measure what I would expect. So Im guessing its accurate. But what is great is how easy it is to use. Just slide it over the end of a cut log and you can very quickly see the moisture distribution. If there is still a we spot at the center for instance, it shows up right away. Those I put next to the stove to dry for a day or two before I use them. This is really the best answer IMO for my use case. A probe meter may be more accurate, but I need quick reading across the wood. Probe meters dont do that. This does. Ive dropped it a few times, still ticking. Highly recommended. Would buy again.
