> 3 dayAs you can see from the photo I had a mess to figure out. This tool contributed zero to trace these wires. I probably wasn’t using the tool properly. I ended up tracing voltage the old way to gets all these circuits to work properly.

> 3 dayI was in the worlds worst hunt trying to figure out where some network rack ethernet cabling routed through a building. Tried the two wire RJ45 plug that is on the unit and could barely hear a peep. Decided to make an adapter and twisted together all 8 wires to a ring terminal and fashioned the key to success! It worked so well I was able to pinpoint approximately 200ft away where it ran through both metal sided walls and sheetrock walls. Life saver! I just wish they had included a full 8 wire RJ45.

> 3 dayDon’t waste your time with this product if your wires are behind drywall. This product isn’t very effective, nor worth the price.

> 3 dayI have used this tracing wires, finding breaker’s in unmarked panels even found found a broken wire under a house that had been pinched by a wire staple and burnt in two. Great tool for the money!

> 3 dayGreat product. Could use a RJ45 female-to-female coupler in the box to connect the provided RJ11 plug to an Ethernet cable for troubleshooting Ethernet networks.

> 3 dayKlein Tools are generally of good quality and do what they are supposed to do. Not so with this cable tracer. It was dead on arrival. The OEM batteries provided did not work. One battery in the probe was dead (.5 Vdc) while the batteries in the signal generator died after 10 minutes of use. Even with fresh batteries, the signal could not be found at distances of over 20 feet from the signal generator. Dont waste your money.

> 3 dayPurchased to track down network cables that were missing labels. Worked great! Saved time and money with this tool. Plugged the rj11 connector on the tool into the rj45 data jack on the wall and then used the wand to locate the other end within a bundle of wires. Recommended this product for network cables. Have not tried on other wiring.

Greater than one weekThe first thing you want to do is throw away the batteries that are included.
