> 3 dayThese are no fun to change if they are stuck together. They fit the faucet and work fine . I had to completely remove the faucet / mount in a soft jawed vice /penetrating oil/ propane torch. Get the picture . If yours dont come apart easily , you may save time and frustration by purchasing a new faucet.

> 3 dayThis was to replace the cold water valve for Kohler faucet K454-4S-CP. It was a perfect match AND included the black spline to be used at the top for attaching the stem extender (87466). My faucet was crusted over badly, and it took some PB Blaster penetrant and time to loosen the gunk. I was too feeble to remove it with a ratchet wrench and needed a stronger person. Thankfully, the old valve was removed. If youre not able to remove the valve cartridge, youll have to buy a different models valve and casing assembly (Ultraglide). Hopefully, youll be as lucky as me and can preserve the old parts. I could not remove the old stem extender for two handles, and another handle had an ill-fitting stem extender. So, i bought new stem extenders to go with the new valves. If you mistakenly bought the wrong sides valve, you can modify it by removing the clip and changing the orientation. Good luck with fixing your leaky faucet.
