> 3 dayUnfortunately, my location has some pretty hard water, so Ive had to replace these valves about once every 8-15 years or so. But this replacement valved fixed our stuck bathroom faucet valve just fine. The hard part is getting the cartridge out of the valve body. My setup is for a widespread faucet, in which the valves (the discontinued Kohler Taboret style) are each mounted separately into the countertop. Turning the 5/8 nut on top with a long socket head only results in loosening and spinning the whole valve body in the countertop. The solution was to disconnect the valve body completely from the water supply, removing it from the countertop and mounting it in the biggest vice I own. With a little careful effort the cartridge could then be unscrewed. While you have everthing apart, grab the vinegar and take the time to clean all the nasty lime deposits off.

> 3 dayKohler told me they no longer carry these ceramic valves for the Revival Widespread Faucet (K-16102-4A) so they sent their Ultraglide replacement kits (under warranty) 1131482 (cold) and 1131481 (hot) but to install those requires going under the sink to remove/replace the old parts including the brass valve bodies and hoses. Much simpler to just unscrew the old ceramic valve and put a new one in! So, I found this here, ordered it and installed without issue. And, contrary to what others have reported, the part I received was genuine Kohler with a brass body (not zinc plated). Simple install and no more leaks!

19-11-2024A 25 year old valve started dripping and this was an easy to find replacement that works perfectly. There was some problem doing the replacement but it had nothing to do with the valve. A spark plug socket that fits the valve solved the problem.
