> 3 dayIve ordered this twice, once from D P L and once from Amazon.com. I installed the cartridge received from D P L, and it is working just fine. However, D P L appears to be providing an aftermarket product rather than a Kohler Genuine Part. The cartridge received from D P L was packaged in a plain plastic bag, without label or instructions. Receipt was very quick via First Class Mail, and I needed that quick service for my leaking faucet. No spline was included with the cartridge and an 11/16-inch socket (possibly a deep socket, depending on your faucet) is required to install or remove the cartridge. The cartridge received from from Amazon.com was in packaging clearly labeled Kohler Genuine Parts and included instructions for installation. A new spline was included and a 5/8-inch socket (possibly a deep socket) is required to install or remove the Kohler cartridge. Im currently satisfied with either product, and may not know for years whether one or the other provides better service. D P L offers the best price if you dont need a replacement spline. Instructions for installing new valves (i.e. cartridges) in a two-handle Kohler faucet are available on the Kohler web site.

> 3 daySounds like people are actually receiving a different part depending on the vendor, so the reviews arent all for the same product. Mine was direct from Amazon and it was a real Kohler valve. It fit great and seems to work perfectly so far. It was also a great value. The only difference I could find between my original and this part was that the original was brass, while this was chrome or nickel coated. Very happy with the purchase.

Greater than one weekGreat quality. Fixed the leak. Note, if you are the original owner of the faucet, these cartridges are probably covered under Kohler warranty. I realized this too late.

> 3 dayAs others have said, can be extremely difficult to get the old cartridges out. Mine seemed like they were welded in place! I was afraid I might damage the sink by applying too much force to the wrench (faucet was moving in the sink). Here is what worked for me. 1. Disconnect the faucet from the supply hoses and pop-up drain, you will probably need a basin wrench to do this. 2. Remove the faucet from the sink. 3. Wrap plenty of duct tape around the thread pipes at bottom of faucet (to protect threads from damage). 4. Put the faucet in a vice in a work bench, held in place by the pipes wrapped in duct tape. 4. Try again with the wrench. Took a lot of force, but even without any penetrating oil both cartridges released and came out. New ones are a doddle to put in and dont need much tightening.
