> 3 dayThese worked perfectly in my dripping Kohler whirlpool tub faucet. The biggest challenge was figuring out which size to buy and then removing the old one. Over the course of about a week, I tried spraying the old one with WD40 and then PB Blaster every day or two. Neither worked well enough to loosen the bolt. A friend had a much larger ratchet than mine which I borrowed and it did the trick — probably because I could get a lot more leverage on the longer handle. Next time I would try even insterting the end of my smaller ratchet into a pipe to lengthen it. In this photo you can see my much smaller ratchet next to the granddaddy sized one that I borrowed that did the trick.

> 3 dayThe rotation of turning the water off (CW or CCW) is the key to selecting this cartridge or the GP77005, rather than hot or cold. Note that hot or cold is not on Kohler packaging, its the rotation to off that is specified on the package. The cartridges are reversible by removing the clip too. You will need a 5/8 deep socket to remove the cartridge, at least on my model faucet. These are OEM and work perfectly.

> 3 dayThis drop-in cartridge is very nicely engineered and feels like it was built with quality. The process on how to remove the handle took long than replacing both cartridges. The price is a little steep but Im hoping these will last for many many years. The days of getting the right size seal or washer are GONE!!!!!!

15-11-2024I have no choice but to keep replacing. Due to hard water in my area (CA), this valve will seize and stop turning in a few years. My faucet is too expensive to replace. It is cheap enough to replace the cartridge once in a few years.
