Same cracks as everyone else. Design flaw. Uneven force will be applied to this spot when connecting and using daily. The crack WILL happen eventually to each and every unit; whether it will break catastrophically will vary. I did the same thing as AJ, one of the reviewers here by cutting off the bottom of a 30mm A-10 Warthog shot glass and used the tube as reinforcement. I had 6 of those shot glasses lying around so his idea made wonders. What I did extra was adding JB Weld to both surfaces (scuff the plastic and metal before applying the glue). I hammered the tube down gently. Once its settled, this spot becomes much stronger and doesnt look ugly. This repair should be done early on instead of waiting till the cracks develop further. BTW, the new version of this vacuum now uses clip in style instead of friction - which I believe to be no good because the weak spot remains weak while you no longer have the option to mend it by adding a straight tube. The picture shows that I cut the tube longer to the edge of spout. Picture uploading function is not available now. Still dont know why there is no uploading pic button anymore...

I bought this because I was interested in a stick-vac and a friend recommended it. Since I have several Makita cordless tools I already had the charger and batteries so decided to give it a try. I’m very happy with it and use it frequently. It works very well on hardwood and tile floors but not as well on carpet which is no surprise to me. The storage bracket allowed me to conveniently mount it in my broom closet although it does not come with mounting screws which wasn’t a big deal for me, but might be for others. Filters are readily available from third party venders at low cost and are easy to replace. Battery life is good. The only downside is that there is a high-pitched whine when in use which is annoying to me. I don’t tolerate loud noises well so frequently use hearing protection when using this and other power tools and appliances. Since I frequently use the stick-vac to clean up on DIY home projects, I’m typically already wearing hearing protection so it’s not a big deal. I deducted one star for the high-pitched noise and lack of mounting screws.

I love this vacuum. I have a golden retriever and they shed constantly. Iuse mine daily. This vacuum sucks up all the hair with a quick once over. And its not too heavy and easy to empty out.

My husband recently expressed a wish for a small vacuum, not for major jobs but for the periodic pick up jobs that we all have from time to time - orzo spilled across the kitchen floor, for example. He was particularly impressed that this vac was made by Makita, a favorite line of tools in his construction business. We ordered this in mid-July, received it on Aug 1, and it slipped out of the return window at the end of August. Now, on September 13, he has used it enough that it needed to be emptied. Emptying this little vac created such a mess on the floor that he had to vacuum it up with a larger vacuum. He finds the process of emptying this little vac so unpleasant that he wants, badly, to return it. He is one of those folks we all know who can figure anything out, but this process is simply too difficult. I would volunteer to empty it for him when he vacuums, but he reminds me that he is vacuuming to protect my asthma and allergies, which would be triggered by vacuuming, let alone a dusty emptying routine. We have spent thousands with Amazon over the years, and nearly never return anything, but the difficulty of emptying this vacuum warrants an attempt. Alas, we will now have to throw ourselves on the mercy of Makita.

Hung the vacuum up in a convenient spot. Super easy to grab and use to make for quick vacuum ups. Bought it for quick small clean ups and we love it so much we have started using it for entire house. Has good suction and does the job well.

Having cats and working construction leads to a lot of messes. I was always finding little patches of hair in my home and piles of dirt in my car. It was always a hassle to have to haul out the old corded vacuum or go to the car wash just to handle a little mess. This little guy can take care of all my little messes with ease and does it with convenience. I tried to go the cheap route and was let down. This is worth every penny. Good suction, great battery life, sleek design, useful included attachments.

Previous reviewers that did not love this thing (excepting any who received a damaged product) must have had incredibly positive experiences with vacuums in their past. How can you not love it? A few years ago, I moved into a home with a central vac system. The adorable former owner left me a note calling the vacuum head and tubing my new best friend. Well... it was (and is) a close relationship, to be sure, but one fraught with problems. Honestly, I never want to vacuum unless I have a full hour to lug that thing around, find an outlet, constantly move outlets, and lug it back to the storage closet. Therefore, I went from happily vacuuming once a week to ... oh, once monthly, whether it needs it or not. See my difficulty here? The situation was not good. So I knew I needed something for light jobs, quick pick-ups, and the stairwells on the periphery of the central vacs range. This unit is inexpensive and well-rated, comparatively. It arrived promptly as Prime items do, and I assembled it without even taking the instruction manual out of the box. It worked immediately after assembly and I spent about 10 minutes testing it out before the partially-charged battery (like cell phones this comes with a battery that needs to be fully charged) started to dwindle. Setting off to plug in the charger, I glanced down at my unit expecting to find a little bit of fluff in the chamber but it was FULL of lint. (I know what youre thinking... DUH lady- if you only vacuum once a month! but I really did not think I had gotten so much dirt in that time- verifying the suction DOES WORK in this puppy.) Im a traditionalist, and I do appreciate loyalty, but my central vac comes out for traditional housekeeping only. This unit is my new main sweetheart. And did I mention what a delight it is to have it in the car? How I have lived so long without this gem I can only wonder. While you can buy a better stick vacuum, you cant for this price.
