I purchased these to use with my Hubitat system. They work well once you get them to bind to the system, but are a royal pain to get the system to recognize them. Once they bind however they work fine. The power measurement capability of these work nice as well. You are able to read the line voltage as well as the power being consumed by the devices plugged in. I would definately buy these again.

The unit integrates seamlessly with Home Assistant and Z-wave. Convenient monitoring of power consumption and line voltage right within Home Assistant. Mine performs perfectly inside the house, but due to having aluminum siding and metallic low-E windows, the signal from my Z-wave dongle doesnt reach the outside location very well. This is not a shortcoming of the unit; just be sure to have a good path thats not shielded for RF. It is a very capable switch as long as it gets a good signal from your Z-wave hub.

This applies to a SmartThings (ST) ecosystem. TL;DR use ST IDE and select Zwave Metering Switch Secure. ST also has went to edge drivers and no more device handlers so avoid this til they get real support. I bought this to control and monitor energy usage of outdoor seasonal lights. It easily paired to ST but was only showing as a simple z wave ON OFF device. Reading the fine print of the box it says to email or visit the website for a Custom Device Handler (DH) to get the advertised functions. This wasn’t totally strange as Zooz products often require this. I was bummed since DH mean it will be cloud based and not local but oh well. Low and behold, nothing on their garbage website. Think you’d find it on the actual product page for the device? Nope. Only downloads are three links to named products that is nothing currently listed. Also emailed and no response. Shocker. I played around in ST IDE and finally got its metering functions to show with the preset Zwave Metering Switch Secure. It’s a cheaper smaller profile outdoor Zwave outlet that are hard to come by now it seems. Only reason not returning.

Product connected to Vera Edge but get “Failed at: Setting Special Association”. Switch will still turn on and off but app thinks there are failed devices. Cannot find anything on Vera’s help about what a special association is. Resolve the special association error by changing Automatically configure to “No”

    Greater than one week

I am using the newer series 700 Silicon Labs hub with Home Assistant, and this device allowed me to reliably connect to my pool house about 100 feet away through 2 walls. Had it out in very heavy rains and so far no issues with water.

Im disappointed with Home Seer and Z-Wave overall. The connection is unreliable and intermittent.

I have bought 2 of these MP22Z Z-Wave Outdoor Smart Plugs. I set up one of them and after it was added to Smartthings following the instructions the actual device page showed two question marks and a message which says “Couldnt get device status” see screen shots. I emailed the company and they were responsive. They were not very helpful, and after 6 emails over 2 hours I have given up and I am returning the two MP22Z Z-Wave Outdoor Smart Plugs. I do not recommend these for Smartthings use.

Things I loved: The outdoor rating and energy monitoring capabilities. Compact size for outdoor unit Things I am disappointed by: It didnt make it 6 months before dying. It randomly was turning off, and now it turns off immediately after turning on. Product range was not as good as other zwave devices. It would occasionally completely lose contact with my hub Difficult pairing in smartthings Despite installation at the end of 2022, no Edge driver in smartthings

Easy too install into my alarm system. It is 50’ off a salt water creek. If it last another season it will have exceeded my expectations.
