> 24 hourI did not see the name Moen on the cartridge, so it may be a fake. BUT I installed it anyway and it works great. My shower valve is over 30 years old. The center stem came out easily but to get the brass cartridge out I had to use a makeshift puller. I used a 1/2 tap to thread the center of old brass cartridge. Then used a 1/2 bolt and 3/4 socket as the puller. It has to be a 1/2 drive socket so the bolt can go through it. The bolt I had was too long so I used a smaller size 1/2 drive socket as a spacer. I cleaned the inside of the old valve with Lime-A-Way and a old toothbrush then put a little Vaseline on the rubber o-rings before I inserted the new cartridge. It was more work then I planned but still easier than tearing out the wall and replacing the valve. If it is a sink faucet you may be easier to buy a new faucet. I would suggest watching a youtube.com video on replacing a Moen 1200 cartridge before you start.

> 24 hourBought the moen 1200 brass cartridge mid August for a stall shower. Although I have good home repair skills, took a while to get up the nerve to start . (have read about cartridges coming out but leaving outer body in place.) Using the cartridge puller, job went well; quick and easy. HOWEVER, the shower in full hot position provides a very strong flow. As you you rotate knob to cold, the flow starts to reduce at about the 12 o,clock position. At a comfortable water temp position the flow is barely enough to wet yourself. At full cold position it,s a bare trickle. Removed shower head to ensure problem was not there. Same reduced flow problem. Would be glad to change this to 5 stars if someone tells me if I somehow incorrectly installed unit. Update -I should have written earlier. Turns out a small piece of plastic had broken off the old cartridge and remained in place. Found out when I forget to turn off water while removing the cartridge and the piece flew out under pressure. Would now rate myself 1 star and the cartridge 5 stars.

> 24 hourBetter than plastic cartridge. And no matter what, you HAVE to use OEM Moen made cartridge. Replica after market replacements - dont waste your time!

> 24 hourWhen received, put one in right away, and it leaked, so as long as I had ordered 2, I put the other one in, and it also leaked. Previous Moen Cartriges had Moen stamped on the cartiege, and these 2 did not. After talking to seller, He told me to send back, and I would get credit. so I did. He gave me credit for only one, saying I sent the old on to him. They were only in for 2 minuets if that, so dont know why he said that. The one that I had taken out was from ACE Hdwre. He refused credit on his faulty product Sorry

> 24 hourThis item I bought is listed on Amazon as Moen 1200 One-Handle Kitchen and Bathroom Faucet Cartridge Replacement, Brass. The part is indeed brass, is properly stamped MOEN, and came in original, sealed Moen packaging.

> 24 hourThe package containing cartridge had been opened. The plastic cap to ease installation as shown on the directions was missing. Also the retaining clip was missing. Contacted Moen and the only response I received was a call back for next week. Will upgrade rating after installing cartridge. UPDATE. Contacted Moen and they sent out the missing part. Would recommend they add to the product description that the retaining clip is not included. Had to purchase locally. Cartridge installed just fine and is working great.
