> 3 dayThis brass cartridge is superior to the plastic ones I found at Lowes & Home Depot. It has 4 O rings instead of only 2.

> 3 dayThe name brand replacement cartridges are the only way to go for quality. This was exactly what I ordered, but my old cartridge was frozen in the valve, so I ended up putting in an entire new valve assembly. Had the old valve come out, this would have been an inexpensive and easy repair.

> 3 dayContacted David Powers Limited questioning the quality of the Moed 1200 replacement cartridge. Sara from David Powers Limited responded, All items are purchased in bulk directly from the manufacturer, without retail blister packaging. This is the reason for the tremendously low price and free shipping. I am not sure if the quality of bulk product is different from packaged product, so I cannot speak to that, unfortunately. However, the price of $17.97 is not low. You can purchase a genuine Moen 1200 all brass cartridge on eBay for $14.97 with free shipping. I attempted to install this replacement cartridge and found it had two issues. It was slightly longer so the retainer clip used to retain the cartridge would not fit without forcing it through the slots. In addition, the orifices of the valve are small and only allow a reduced flow of water as compared to the OEM valve. Caution ! ! ! ! Go with the genuine Moen 1200 valve. Its a perfect fit and youll get it at a cheaper price. If it doesnt have Moen stamped on the brass part of the cartridge then its not a Moen cartridge.

> 3 dayBe careful in ordering this model. If your faucet was manufactured after the mid 90s this will eventually leak. It is intended for older models. For a modern single handle faucet order the 1225 version for your replacement. Amazon does not make this clear In their description but Moen does on their website.

> 3 dayThis unit fixed my Moen. The secret is to go on YOU TUBE as a plumber show how to change it. Do not buy the tool it is a waste of money and does not do the job. The video is a enormous help!

> 3 dayIn the past Ive bought the look a likes that matched the original Moen, but would wear out after a few years. This one had the Moen name inscribed on it and it sill operated smoothly and effortlessly.

> 3 dayI bought this part in 2011 and had it sitting around for quite a while before changing the cartridge in a shower yesterday. I didnt notice that is replacement for the Moen part. The O-rings on the outside of the part looked loose, but what do I know. I installed the new part and the shower leaked. When I tried to pull the cartridge to look it over, the stem pulled out of the body. I got the body out and saw that one of the O-rings had split in half. So I had a part that didnt work and came apart. The genuine part I bought from the store for a couple of bucks more worked perfectly. Not a well made part.

Greater than one weekThe unit advertised was MOEN brand (original brand) but the one they sent me was generic-- no maker name on package, unit, nor instructions. Seller offered to accept the unit for return, but I said no. Seems to work when first installed. We shall see. LATER: Well, its been in use a few weeks and its getting hard to operate. If you buy one, make sure to get a genuine MOEN brand unit. Mine is not MOEN, and I regret it.

> 3 dayI turned to Amazon because both Home Depot and Lowe at my area did not have this in stock. I was very skeptical at first because this is for a old Moen, even Moen web site doesnt list it clearly. I didnt know it Im ordering the right thing by looking at the photo. As the price is so much lower than HD or Lowe, I took my chance. Fortunately it was the right one and works perfectly. I would never expect buying plumbing parts from internet. Risk well taken!
