Greater than one weekThis brand has felt like the best of both worlds for me as a beginner with oil pastels. Every positive review Ive read here has been spot on so far for me. I had started out with some basic Pentel oil pastels, which arent too bad if you use them with pastel paper. Id almost say that having some paper with a bit of tooth to it is more important for learning oil pastels because its nearly impossible to blend colors without the right kind of paper. Having said that, when I tried these out, I immediately noticed the difference as it was much easier to blend colors and to add depth to my landscapes by blending colors on top of each other. I picked up some white Sennelier pastels because Id used up the white in this set while practicing clouds, and I noticed that the more expensive Sennelier is quite creamy and soft, which is hard for a beginner to work with if you want to get a handle on blending and more detailed work. While I hope to eventually use Sennelier pastels, this brand has been the perfect middle ground for me as I learn some basic techniques and get a handle on working with pastels. I cant recommend these highly enough.

> 3 dayMy pre-teen son also liked pastels in art kits that he got when he was younger. Those pastels were definitely of lower quality, and he had a hard time imitating pastel techniques that he saw in videos -- just wouldnt work. So I ordered these and now he can successfully do the techniques. He treasures these!

Greater than one weekThese are my absolute fave oil pastels (and I tried sennelier and winsor newton). For accessibility, quality, and texture this is the best and squishiest oil pastels that I use for art therapy

> 3 dayThese pastels are amazing for the price. I got the set of 48 and would definitely buy again, probably the 60 or 72 count though, because I would want more color variety. They are very creamy and apply smoothly, and blending them with tortillions worked really well. Very happy!

> 3 dayI’m semi experience with oil pastels and have tried a lot of different brands and this along with the neopastels are my fav. Some colors cover better than others, but there’s lots of selection in colors and the price is fabulous. The senneliars are actually too soft for what I like to do. These have a smooth application, but last a while. I feel like I can go through a whole senneliar in one painting. The box of 72 is fabulous and you can buy colors individually. I’m posting some pics to showcase some of the colors

> 3 dayI love oil pastels, and these are my GOTO brand. They are a bit more firm than Sennilier and makes them perfect in my hands.

> 3 dayThis are soft and workable great for one maybe two layers for beginners- but as far as mixing the colors and layering they are not exactly what I was hoping for to use on my-large artwork. The colors don’t mix very smooth and get muddy easily. They are soft and tend to bead up when you try to layer to much. Similar to other beginner brands. These are much softer and smother then others but the color and pigment is not quite what I was looking for to complete this large oil pastel I started with Van Gogh. I may have to re order the Van Gogh the color I enjoyed was better blending and mixing like oil paints when using mediums on canvas.
