Great value. Much softer and creamier than other oil pastels in this price range. Heavy pigmentation, not very waxy, blend fairly easily. My one major complaint is the lack of pinks. Theres only one, a light pink. No cool reds, either. There are TWELVE greens...but only one pink? Thats a problem. Quality is great, but they definitely need to rethink the color range.

The pastels are great, but I wish they came in a sturdier box. The box was a little damaged when it arrived, which is not surprising considering it was packaged in a plastic bag with no protection whatsoever.

I have pastels as cheap as Crayola and as expensive as Sennelier. Mungyo pastels are a perfect in-between, a bit firm but soft and smooth enough to spread easily with a Q-tip (which I prefer) or your finger. Theyre great for beginners because they make it easy to get favorable results with lesser skill. Not everyone can make Crayola pastels look amazing like BlackbeanCMS. So, these are a great way to start. Theyre super fun to use! I strongly recommend them. I first got them under the Hashi brand (in Japan), which are the same pastels in a different box for some reason, and I was so impressed that I ordered these from the States to be sent to me in Japan. So, that should tell you something about how much I like them.

For a while I been trying to get some decent oils pastels without spending a ton of money and have to say these are awesome! They are creamy smooth and have great pigments. After I got the first set, I loved them so much I got another. I would highly recommend these for artists of all levels.

I asked for a set of oil pastels for Christmas last year and received these. I’m newer to using pastels but this isn’t my first time using them. The tree picture is a rendition of a Van Gogh print I did for an art class. They glided beautifully on smooth paper and it was easy to layer colors on top of each other. I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I recently used them for the other 2 pictures to experiment blending colors. The colors are so bold and vibrant. The pastels blended quite easily and allowed for layering quite well. Each pastel lasts pretty long since you can get a pretty good spread with them. I used them nearly a year apart and experienced no leaking like cheaper oil pastels can do. I was even able to use black colored pencil and white gouache on top of the pastels (the palm trees and moon/stars) quite well. I never used a really expensive set before so I don’t know how these compare but I think this is a create set that will last me quite a long time & I look forward to using them on many other projects. I highly recommend them if you want to get into trying oil pastels or for an art student.

These are my absolute fave oil pastels (and I tried sennelier and winsor newton). For accessibility, quality, and texture this is the best and squishiest oil pastels that I use for art therapy

I bought these to replace some Pentel oil pastels that I wasnt satisfied with. The Pentel oil pastels were too hard and just didnt work right. These pastels are pretty much perfect in every way: the blending, smoothness, and pigmentation are all spot on. These are the best soft oil pastels in the price range by far.

Im super picky. Im not a fan of oil pastels that crumble, so it took me a while to read reviews before I purchased. Finally settled on these and I couldnt be happier.
