    did not work. poor customer support. too late to return. will not purchase anything NEAT. closing NEAT account, too costly. looking for a less expensive option. DO NOT BUY THIS product. if you must buy mine.

    Works in a pinch - I purchased the unit because of size. I needed a scanner that was easy to transport and quick to setup on a conference table. The size is great and it is very easy to stick in my computer bag. As for function it scans - but locks up constantly, the feed tends to pull the paperwork to the side creating a skewed document. If you plan to do a lot of scanning - this is NOT the machine for you.

    IMPORTANT WARNING: Ordered this scanner and travel case for a project & trip but the software product key was non-functioning on arrival and as a result, could not load software or use the scanner. Neat offers no telephone support so I diligently read through the online knowledge base and than submitted my support question/ask for help to Neat via their support website. Next day, no response so I sent another email and submission request. Third day, no response - so sent another email/submission request. Fast forward -- a full week later, and I still have not received a single response (either email or call) at all to my more than seven inquiries. Unfathomable & shocking. Judging by other reviews, its clear my experience is sadly, not unique. Neats tech support and customer service is simply non-existent and its clear that NEAT doesnt care about its customers or support reputation. A truly horrible experience. I urge you to avoid this type of pain -- DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!

    This device is very easy to install, and works great right out of the box. Setup on my MacBook (late 2008 Aluminum) was easy and trouble-free. I like how compact the scanner is; and that it does not require any external power source. It fits nicely in my computer bag. I had no trouble scanning documents and receipts even the first time. Scan quality is very good. The included software is pretty easy to use... it does an OK job extracting information -- but you have to make sure you pick the right document type (there are only two) or it misses completely. I did NOT need to contact customer support, so i cannot comment on the quality of their service. Good news is, it worked fine right out of the box.

    Poor technical support team. I purchased the product at 2015 May. Two years now, the company want to promote its cloud software service, stop to support the hardware software. I bought a new computer, but once I installed into the old one. Even I uninstall the software from the old computer, I could not allow to transfer to a new computer. And I could not get a technical person to help me with the software installation. They repeat and repeat say the company policy. Dont like the company to push customer for paying more and more. I am going to look for other solution for this product.

    Ive been using this for a couple of weeks now and Im pretty happy with it. The setup and operation of the hardware is very simple. After watching a couple of tutorials on how to use the filing cabinet I feel comfortable with getting things scanned in and sorted in a way that will make finding documents easy. Compared to another brand I tried, the scan quality is good. The other product had a function where you could just feed the document in and it would automatically start scanning it, where this one requires you to push a button each time, but thats just a matter of a tiny bit more convenience. The other thing Im not entirely excited about is that when scanning photos I could only get them to save as documents. Id like to be able to scan photos in as pic files instead. Overall, Im really happy with this product and feel more organized and less cluttered by paper already.

    I bought this product through amazon and at first I was very excited about the scanner. I own the scansnap mac scanner and thought this would be great idea when on the road. It works slowly, but it used to deliver. Suddenly the scans got darker, not as accurate and it was time to call technical support. As stated by other reviewers, there IS NO TECH SUPPORT and one must rely on a bb, or email, that takes 48 hours at a minimum to respond to the emails with no visible solution. Dont waste your money in this product that looks nice, feels nice, and seems to work well. It doesnt. And while they spent a lot of money in marketing, theyve failed to provide competitive customer service.

    I know it costs more for a MAC user than a PC user, but totally worth it. Youre paying for the peace-of-mind that it works on Mac. Software works great -- has cool database functions. Spits out PDFs easily. Good for taxes! Works on my MacBook Pro (Intel) 2.6Ghz .

    Works very much as I expected. Dont like that it can skew the recept as it is scanning. Scan image is good. Software works nice on mac. Just use for receipts. Have bigger scanner for full page.

    NeatCo, perhaps intentionally, has come up with what amounts to the most customer-unfriendly, onerous and mindlessly long technical support every devised. I think their tech support purposefully hates to hear from their customers, so they went ahead and put the following system together. First of all, you cannot contact them on the phone. You call their number and get a telephonic message (in a loop) which repeatedly tells you to return to their website for service. You go to their website, and you MUST specify from their pulldown list a set of pre-determined items. If your problem doesnt fit, youre screwed. You have to put in something completely foreign to what you want just in order for your request to go through. They then send you, via email, an auto-response telling you to click on a URL to get your trouble-ticket. Then and only then can you communicate with Tech Support. Only via the web; no personal contact. This is what NeatCo calls customer support. I must say that I did get their Neat Receipts scanner working, but had a minor issue with the search feature. It SHOULD have been easy to get a quick answer from tech support, but not with NeatCo. If you need help with their unit, dont even think about purchasing from them. As I said, the worst customer support ever devised.
