> 3 dayHave been one of the first adapters of this scanner. From the beginning, this product malfunctioned, outputted poorly scanned receipts, with mediocre recognition for autofill. The customer service is horrendous, at least it has been when I attempted to get support last time 2 years ago. I have thrown away this product eventually, after giving it a last shot, for about 5 years and when I received another request to update the software, not being able to revive it after the install. Newer iterations might be better, but has been a truly poorly made product from its inception.

> 3 dayI bought this to get myself organized. The software is great (once you figure out how to use it, which isnt easy). The scanner works well with heavy paper such as business cards and some checks, but is virtually impossible to use with thinner paper, especially letter size sheets. I have yet to get a single piece of paper to feed straight. No matter how meticulously I align the paper, the scanner will twist it and turn it so by the time it is half way through it is at a 30 degree angle. It comes out twisted and the resulting scan is distorted. It installs easily, but is impossible to use. About every third or fourth scan, it will no longer feed or if it does, the software will say that the scan cannot be completed even though the entire document has been fed through the scanner. The only solution I have found is to quit NeatWorks, unplug the scanner, plug it back in, and then restart NeatWorks. Then after three or four scans, repeat this process. Obviously the hardware has lots of bugs that the company needs to fix. The concept is great, and I had high hopes for it, but clearly it is going to require way too much work to scan most documents. Instead of being a time saver, it has become a time waster.

Greater than one weekIMPORTANT WARNING: Ordered this scanner and travel case for a project & trip but the software product key was non-functioning on arrival and as a result, could not load software or use the scanner. Neat offers no telephone support so I diligently read through the online knowledge base and than submitted my support question/ask for help to Neat via their support website. Next day, no response so I sent another email and submission request. Third day, no response - so sent another email/submission request. Fast forward -- a full week later, and I still have not received a single response (either email or call) at all to my more than seven inquiries. Unfathomable & shocking. Judging by other reviews, its clear my experience is sadly, not unique. Neats tech support and customer service is simply non-existent and its clear that NEAT doesnt care about its customers or support reputation. A truly horrible experience. I urge you to avoid this type of pain -- DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!

> 3 dayI have friends that swear by it, but when I scan the receipts dont always scan in straight and I feel like Im creating more time and work for myself. I have my eye on the Evernote scanner that seems to scan 25 pages at once. I think Neat has something similar. Going to sell this one back when I get a chance.

> 3 dayThe scanner is a great size, compact and easy to carry around with my laptop. I really like that it doesnt require any external power too. The quality is great for receipts and documents. As for the software, I often find that I have to crop my receipt scans because they show up with a giant black box around them, and generally speaking I have to edit every receipt because the OCR is good but not perfect. The software also seems to be more tailored for business professionals, and not just a regular home user like me. Something like tags or custom fields for each scan would be a great addition to the software. I know you can buy other programs that are supposed to work very well with this scanner, but I feel like if I am going to pay almost $200 for this package, I shouldnt need to buy extra things to make it work.

Greater than one weekThe scanner is pretty fast for a small desktop device and produces good scans. The device is portable and connects via usb. The software OCR is pretty accurate. The thing that makes the day is the software. It does a good job of pulling off the fields from the scanned item and placing them into the right place in the built in data base entry. But the thing that really is good is how easy it is to manually update fields or over ride the OCR. Just drag the info into where you want it and edit it for correctness. I am using the MAC version but I assume the PC version works just as well. So it does everything I wanted.

> 3 dayIm revising my earlier review; I still really like this, but have found it to be a little finicky in ongoing use. Still, great for someone who travels a lot or a portable office. ******** Why didnt I buy this sooner! Thats all I can think every time I use this little wonder. Here is a fun piece of technology that actually lives up to its promises. It is incredibly lightweight, has a sleek design, is easy to use, and works flawlessly! I travel quite a bit, and always seem to accumulate a lot of paper along the way - client files, receipts, business cards etc. Even in todays digital age, I continually find myself lugging a briefcase full of papers, as well as needing a fax machine. This solves all of those problems. The OCR software is remarkable. Receipts can be scanned, and the software will automatically recognize the name of the company, the total and even the tax. The copies are easy to file and store, and the data can be exported to Quickbooks for tax purposes. The scanner itself takes up considerably less space in my luggage than all of the files I usually carry, and makes it easy for me to archive many documents even when Im on the road. It really does work at the touch of a button. Neat and Mac make a great combo. Perfect for any mobile office! Hunter Phoenix - [...]

> 3 dayGreat product, works as advertised. Wish they had a desktop version like they have for windows. One refinement would be on its OCR, I find myself writing in some info that the OCR misses. Also the drag and drop is a little buggy at times. I did not expect this product to be bug free from a company that is use to writing windows programs. I am positive that future updates will remedy any bugs. Even with the bugs I am very please with the product and would suggest it to everyone.

> 3 dayPoor technical support team. I purchased the product at 2015 May. Two years now, the company want to promote its cloud software service, stop to support the hardware software. I bought a new computer, but once I installed into the old one. Even I uninstall the software from the old computer, I could not allow to transfer to a new computer. And I could not get a technical person to help me with the software installation. They repeat and repeat say the company policy. Dont like the company to push customer for paying more and more. I am going to look for other solution for this product.
