Philips Hue 468942 Single Premium BR30 Smart Bulb Downlight for 5-6 inch recessed cans, 16 million colors (Hue Hub Required, Works with Alexa), Old Version, White and Color Ambiance

I originally had these lights with the hue hub and they didn’t always work which was very very annoying. I was going to give up on them then gave the echo plus a shot because You can control the lights without the hue hub. Problem solved. Moral of story: if you buy these get the echo plus.

The price is definitely high for these however the quality is outstanding they really set off my theater room. However be careful you can get addicted to buying them. I now have them throughout my house and feel a little crazy for how much I spent on light bulbs LOL but still dont regret it. I love using it with Alexa

Love these bulbs. They are pricey and I could get Sylvania lights cheaper but the setup of these is so easy and for my purposes and are working very nicely. I will be buying more of these once I find a money tree in my backyard.

Works exactly as expected and is high quality, just too overpriced.

They look awesome in my home theater. Ive spent a small fortune on a cart full of these lights, but I have zero complaint as to their function.

Get the 2nd Generation instead. These 3rd generation bulbs make a lot of buzzing noise PLUS they will NOT work properly if you have a dimmer switch. As in they will act up and will blink frenetically during any given time, every day when hooked up to a dimmer switch. Yes, I know you are not supposed to use the dimmer on the switch as you can use the HUE app which is how they should be dimmed, however, these will not work properly with a dimmer switch at any given position of the wall dimmer. The 2nd Generation has NO issues with dimmer switches and NO buzzing noise. Returning them back to Amazon and ordering more of the 2nd Generation instead.

Good idea. Executed beautifully. There are people who devastated by their ignorance, assuming this bulb will function perfectly as a smart bulb when controlled by conventional dimmer switches designed for dumb bulbs. This smart bulb wont work with conventional dimmer switches. Philips hue line has its own wireless dimmer switch sold separately. Requires a Philips Hue Hub (sold separately) and smart phone/tablet with Philips Hue app and/or a smart home device to function as a smart bulb. One small drawback is relatively high price.

Not sure why this only had four stars when I purchased it. Maybe the price? Well it’s worked completely fine for me! I’m very happy with it and the auora it brings
