> 3 dayThe controller works as intended, I typically use it with Steam or RetroArch to play the games from the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis Classics collection. Controller supports switching between X-input and D-input by holding start and B button for approx 5-10 seconds, which is useful for some games (I found I needed to use this for Sonic Mania, which only supports one input type).

> 3 dayI always loved the Sega 6 button controllers on the Genesis and the Saturn, and this thing is spot on and perfect for what I use it for (mainly fighting games). I only wish there was some way of using it on the Switch as well as my PC. (probably some sort of adapter or the like, I just need to look into what is available.) At any rate, as someone who used the originals back in the day, this feels and operates exactly as I expected. Update: Seems these now work with Nintendo Switch. I wish it was more clear that this would be added, or that there was some way to update the one I already have to be compatible. I never saw any mention, outside of the soon to be available bluetooth revisions, that Switch compatibility would be added.

20-11-2024So, the product is absolutely great. Feels just like I remember the Genesis controllers of old feeling, and it works great with my MiSTer setup for plating retro games, so Im really happy with the product. What Im not happy with is the delivery being a day late, which is becoming a fairly frequent problem with Amazon. Its frustrating that they dont dispatch the order as soon as you place it, but whats annoying is they give you a delivery date (for me it was Wednesday), yet they only dispatched the item on Wednesday morning. Its not clear how they expect USPS to do same day delivery when they only put the product into the Post Office at 5 in the morning, the day the thing is supposed to be delivered.

> 3 dayGreat product with a very long cord. Quick tip, the mode button will reset the genesis mini back to the game select screen.

> 3 dayWhat else can I say about the Genesis controller that hasnt already been said? It is the perfect size for adult hands, has tremendous button response, and the D-Pad does what Nintendo could only dream of. (Not saying the consoles werent equal in terms of games.) The retrobit usb 8-button controller perfectly captures the sega level of quality from the early 90s, thus introducing the greatness of the Genesis to a whole new generation of fans. It works perfectly with my retropie Raspberry Pi system, and after some minor reprogramming, I can play the entire library of Genesis games like its 1993 all over again. I was especially impressed with the fluidity of the button response (no snapping or popping here) and the substantial weight of the controller. You feel as if you can really hammer on it when playing TMNT or jerk on the D-Pad when playing Super Monaco GP without damaging it. Overall, Im incredibly pleased with my purchase, and would encourage any retrogamer to do so as well. Cowabunga dudes!

> 3 dayYup, feels like a Genesis controller to me. Right now its my fightpad of choice. Theres some driver weirdness with my PC - if the pc starts with the controller plugged in, its recognized as a Switch Pro controller, but if I remove it and plug it back in its just a generic D-Input controller. This is annoying, because I have to have different controller bindings for each one. However, if I just leave it plugged in things are right as rain. Definitely worth the money, it makes retro games and fighting games much more enjoyable.

Greater than one weekI had a Genesis back in the day and the first thing I bought other than a couple games was the 6 button controller. I used that extensively for many years and always loved it. Now, I play Genesis games on emulator on my PC and I always missed the feel of the 6 button. Plus, for games that actually use the buttons like Street Fighter II, it is really difficult to map that to an Xbox or PS controller. This controller fits the bill perfectly. The buttons all feel exactly as I remember and the love it or hate it directional pad is still the same. For me, that is a good thing but your mileage may vary. I also really like the inclusion of shoulder buttons as they allow me to map save states to them for easy access. This controller feels high quality and I am confident it will last. I highly recommend it.

> 3 daySometimes you buy old school video game pads and they just dont feel right in your hands. No this one. This feels like an exact replica of the original and it takes me back to being 12 again.
