Greater than one weekThese are a little difficult to install (I think most saftey latches unless the stick on, but those dont work very well when toddlers are yanking on them), but once I got them all installed, they worked great! I babysit twin 12 month olds every week, so I needed to babyproof my kitchen, but I didnt want to have to deal with annoying baby locks all the time. I love that I can flip them on as needed and turn them off when the kids arent there. The keys are easy to use go through really thick cabinets. I had to add a block of wood under the lock to get them to work in my drawers that have an inset panel and the magnet works just fine. When Im not using the key, I just stick it on the bottom of the cabinets and stays magnetized to hidden screws. I have two key to make it easier to grab without always walking across the kitchen. Note:: I thought that a strong earth magnet work to open these in case I lost the key, but those arent strong enough. Only the key works. Its a good idea to have at least 2 keys.

19-11-2024Overall Im pretty satisfied with these locks. Once you get them installed correctly, they work very well. The biggest advantage is that theyre invisible and do not allow the drawer/door to open enough to get a finger smashed. As others have noted, installation can be a bit bothersome. The first lock was the most difficult, naturally. The more I did, the easier it became to install. A couple of times, after screwing everything into place, the lock would stay down, even though the magnet was nowhere near it. I had to rotate it ever so slightly to get the lock to pop open and then screw it back secure. Im wondering if maybe it was sitting too close to the metal pull of the drawer, but cannot confirm. But now that everything is installed and working properly, the wife and I are satisfied. Its a shame that the replacement keys are so expensive. We could definitely use a couple of extra ones to place around the kitchen since were always searching for the one that came with the kit.

> 3 dayWe bought these locks about 18 months ago because our toddler was starting to experiment with opening all our cabinet doors and getting everything out, making a mess, but we didnt want to ruin the look of our brand-new kitchen. So... I installed these just when we received them and theyve held up perfectly. The first day with them on, she tugged and tugged on the doors and had this priceless puzzled look as to why she couldnt open them. Over these past 18 months, she already has learned how to unlock them (we need to keep the key out of her reach) and they still hold up really well. This added the safety we needed to our kitchen without messing up how everything looks. Definitely would recommend it to anyone with a small child and a nice kitchen. By the way... if you ever lock your key inside the cabinet, you can open it with any other strong magnet. Also, these are magnetic (as stated), dont even try them on metal cabinets, it wont work. But they do work well with wood and fiberboard.

20-11-2024It may sound weird, but I kind of love these things. When our son started walking at 10 months he got into everything and caught his fingers in drawers several times. We installed these all over the kitchen and in the bathrooms and they work great. The downside to these is that its a pain to find the magnet every time you want to open a cabinet. We solved this problem by buying a pack of neodymium magnets and fashioning them with a little handle to make them easier to grip (or you could just buy extra magnet keys). We put one key on the sink (metal) and one on the fridge, which was just about within arms reach of every cabinet in the kitchen. I liked these so much I build a bookshelf with secret compartments that have no handles and can only be opened with magnets. If you screw the magnetic piece down to hard it could cause the lever to bind up an not release. If this happens back off on the screws a little bit until it pops out. Theyve been in for 2+ years and havent had a single issue yet.

> 3 dayThese are great if you dont want your child locks to be visible or leave small openings for cabinets to close on little fingers. You do need to drill them in to the cabinet, but everything is done out of sight, so we are able to use them even though we dont own our home. Yes, they are a little bit of a pain to deal with, but I dont think there are child safety locks out there that arent at least somewhat of a pain. Once you get the hang of opening them (you have to hold the magnet in EXACTLY the right spot and open the door while its still positioned there) and remember to grab the key before trying to open the door (it does take a little while), these work perfectly. Theyve made our cabinet doors so uninteresting to our very curious and active 7-month-old that he no longer even bothers trying to open them. I am giving them 4 stars only because one of the locks didnt work properly and we cant use it. Fortunately, we didnt need that one so I let it go.

Greater than one weekThis is the ABSOLUTE best way to keep your child out of your cabinets!! My only recommendation is to include a second magnet in the kit for forgetful parents who tend to lose the magnet easily. I bought a second pack just to have 2 so I wouldnt be locked out. These are awesome though, my 3 year old son hangs off the cabinets trying to get them open and they still wont budge. They are somewhat annoying if Im in a hurry and I want to get into the cabinets, BUT they are much quicker than undoing one of those child locks. I HIGHLY recommend this products to all parents who want to keep their cleaners safe from little hands. I know most people who I recommended these to said its a pain in the butt to install them, but Ive moved 2 times since Ive ordered them and my boyfriend has taken no more than 30 minutes installing them on our cabinets at each house. Its definitely worth the $$ for a piece of mind that my child is safe.

19-11-2024These are amazing! It took my dad a little while to help install them, but once he figured out how the installation worked it wasnt too difficult. The best think about these locks is the ability to disengage them. My husband is like a mad scientist in the kitchen and hes always moving quickly, opening and closing cabinets. It is nice for him to be able to disengage all of the locks when he is cooking and baking for a long time, and then reengage them when hes done. This feature was also very handy when we put our house on the market, because we could just leave the locks disengaged when we had home showings. (Also, as a side note, it is super fun to see friends try to figure out the locks, and it is equally fun to see kids try to figure them out!) We have not had any trouble with the magnets being too weak or with them releasing with hard tugs. Our daughter has pulled at our locked cabinets with all of her might and the locks have never given way. We just moved, and I cant wait to install these locks on our new cabinets. (Also, these would be great for grandparents who want to childproof their cabinets, but who would love to not have to deal with the annoyance of child locks all the time. Just leave the locks disengaged most of the time, and before the grandkids come over just engage the locks while theyre there!)

19-11-2024I just purchased our third set of these. The first two sets we used in the kitchen, the third we purchased for the bathrooms now that we are about to begin potty training. These are the best cabinet child proofing product out there. They are slightly time consuming to install but are worth it. Make sure to read the instructions, if you dont it can be slightly confusing. No marks are made on the outside of the cabinets, and they stay completely closed. A magnet key is used to open them. My daughter does have a alphabet fridge magnet toy, thankfully the magnet letters CANNOT open the cabinets. The decorative magnets I use to hang things on the fridge can open them. I would recommend tying a ribbon to the keys so you can hang them on higher cabinet nobs, and find them easily. These can be left unlocked by flicking the switch on the inside which is great for grandparents. I also leave my bathroom cabinets unlocked most the time and only lock them when my daughter is around for a while. I was also surprised how durable they are, our first two sets were installed in kitchen, we then moved and installed them in our new kitchen. None of them broke being removed, and installed a second time very well.

> 3 dayWe love these locks!!!! The very best child locks EVEr and we have used so many! You install by screws, not hard, but a necessary piece of info. The nicest feature besides the absolutely effective child locking is that they have a switch which allows you to disengage the locking mechanism. This feature is so nice, especially for those who may only have children around sometimes, grandparents, friends, or in between stages on kids... and you dont always want t deal with a safety lock. Imagine having your granbabies around and not having your DVD cupboard exploited, or your Tupperware drawer I will never be without these again. I even lock the toy cupboard with them giving my only one toy at a time rule some needed backing. I keep the magnetic lock on my fridge and having a few extras isnt unhelpful. I have a few different brands trying or a better price after loving these, and while the others are work fine, these certainly feel the highest quality. Take note, if you do different brands they may use opposite ends of the magnet, making the various keys less compatible with the other sets. Once again love these, and thus is the brand I will buy more of if I need them. If this was helpful, please say so, it makes me happy to know Ive helped someone.

> 3 dayThese locks are great for childproofing. We have used them in the kitchen and under the bathroom sink where cleaners and soaps are stored. -There is NO unsightly padlock device on the outside of your cabinets - you cannot tell the locks are there, so your kitchen doesnt look like a nursery -There is an off/on switch! So, if youre cooking and are going to have to open the same drawer ten times, you dont have to keep using the magnet. Just unlock it for cooking and secure it back when youre done. -The magnet sticks to the fridge, so we always know where it is Only downside is that sometimes it can be annoying having to grab the magnet to open whatever drawer I want, especially if the cabinet I want access to is across the kitchen from the magnet. But - Id rather have that inconvenience than have to stare at giant white, plastic locks on the outside of cabinets. You also have to learn where the magnets are, because theres not really any way to see where exactly you should put the key. Install them all in the same basic spot on each door so that the lock is easy to find each time. I just scoot the key until I hear a thunk if I didnt catch the magnet on the first try. Overall - I am very pleased.
