Made my 2012 macbook pro like new again, before it was extremely slow and I was considering getting rid of it but its faster than when it was new

I have recently been tasked with doing a bunch of computer upgrades. Samsung has made this very easy with data migration software and Samsung ssd. Using a simply USB to sata adapter plug the ssd into a USB port, download and install the data migration software, and migrate. I have run into zero problems while doing this.

After about a month Windows10 suddenly alerted that I need to restart to repair my drive. Upon restart, the system could no longer find a boot drive. Plugged the drive into a different computer and ran the full Samsung diagnostic scan which froze and failed to complete. Something must have been repaired since the drive did boot afterward, but Windows was nonfunctional with lots of software/drivers missing. Samsungs website was impossible to navigate with broken redirects and errors upon submitting forms. Their Chat feature was useless, they just told me to call tech support. The call itself went well enough, however they refused to send me a replacement until after they receive this one, which means I wont be able to copy data directly to the new drive, and will have to wait a while before I can rebuild my system. Western Digital used to send a new drive for exchange, and for a premium SSD at this cost I expected much better service, and a much better drive. I used Intel SSDs for years and never had one single issue, plus they were way faster according to my benchmarks. Unfortunately I cant seem to find any high-capacity Intel SSDs, perhaps they are exiting the consumer SSD business.

A little hiccup in the original cloning of the hard drive but once past that, installing this was a breeze. It responds in less than the blink of an eye.

I was amazed at how wonderful this drive actually worked. Im a bit of a neophyte when it comes to upgrading computers, but I carefully researched the Samsung products, and downloaded their software before I purchased this SSD. I was tired of waiting for my HHD to load, so this drive fit the bill. The SSD is the future of home and business computers, until we find something better. Be sure to download the Samsung Data Migration and the Samsung Magician software to maximize this drive once youve installed it. Youll need to get a USB device to copy your C drive or move data.... heres the one I bought:

I had no issues with my system recognizing this drive (win 10 Dell.) My old HDD was malfunctioning, but I was able to boot up on another old temporary HDD I had installed windows on. Installed the software on that drive with my system drive hooked up to another SATA port. The software was able to copy my on the fritz drive to the new drive. Now boots like a champ, no lost files and speed much improved. PERFECT.

Installation was a bit confusing at first because the directions is not clear as day but it was easy to figure out for the most part. You will need 2 softwares. One for data transfer and the other for optimization. Once I installed this , the boot up was super fast. Normally I’ll be waiting a couple mins but this took less then 15 secs to boot up. All my start up programs are already up on the screen as I log on. It use to take forever for that stuff to boot and made everything else run slow. I am a music producer so this is extremely helpful when it comes to fast boot ups and things loading quickly . Best investment I ever made and haven’t upgraded my ram yet. If I were you, I’ll this first before ram and you’ll notice a difference in performance.

This is my third Samsung SSD. The previous two were 860 EVO models, this one is the revised and more robust 870 model. The oldest one has been serving me well for 10 years of heavy use now. I couldnt ask for a better quality peppy drive.
