Pretty much the best SATA SSD you can buy. Used it to replace a hard drive in my laptop, system performance is fantastic compared to the mechanical drive.

I have bee the IT support for a 4 person company for 30 years now....my family. I have replaced all traditional HDs with Samsung SSDs. I use 500gb for a separate drive for the OS and other non-game installs only. Never had a problem with anyone but the 250 I bought...too small!. I used that one for a friend that DOESNT game and its still working fine for her.

So far no dislikes Im using the drive for strictly games and it has helped greatly on load times

Purchased several 1TB EVO drives to upgrade older laptops so took advantage of the roughly 30% discount of Save with Used - Like New. As expected, they arrived in packaging different from the original. Sadly, the drives themselves were months old (per the date codes on the drives) and had close to a hundred hours of power-on and write/erase and ECC cycles (as learned through Samsung Magician). They clearly had been used (but looked new with no dust, marks or smell of smoke).

I got this this to make Chia plotting faster and its been great speed-wise. It can easily handle plotting 2 at a time without reaching maximum usage in the resource monitor. Its as easy to install as any other internal SSD and really fast for the price.

Got 2 of these drives. First one went into an older laptop, Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM. Did not want to clone operating system, the Acer version of windows 10 had limits. Did my research and got prepped with a windows media creation usb drive for a clean intall. Popped out the old toshiba hd and popped in the 870 evo. (not to worry about 10mm vs 7mm, the toshiba HD is 7mm and has rubber shock absorption pads to fit the sata port, just install them on new drive) Inserted usb drive, turned on laptop, followed instructions. Helps if you already have a Microsoft account. Very straightforward.
