Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

Very fast SSD I am running two internals and one external. Just make sure does not try to designate the drive as extra storage for OS drive.

I have an older desktop computer. It is used for spreadsheets, financial tracking, email, etc so no heavy gaming or other memory/processing intensive activities like editing photos, detailed drawing, etc. It was adequate but seemed to react very slowly. I had upgraded to a 2Tb hard drive (really was overkill given my applications) with no improvement. On board memory cannot be expanded past the 4Gb that is installed. This was a refurbished business unit from HP. I installed this Samsung 1Tb drive and the menu/application software available from Samsungs web page. After struggling a bit to clone my old files and OS from the huge 2Tb hard drive to the new SSD 1Tb solid state drive, I finally got the computer to boot up on the new drive. A significantly faster boot up cycle, very fast accessing/ saving spreadsheets, photos, podcasts etc. Wasnt sure if it would make a difference but it did. I have relegated my old hard drive as a bootable back up drive in case this SSD drive fails at some point but other reviews indicated its pretty reliable. I also have backed it up on line with a restoral service just in case. Five starts for the speed and performance.

I got this as a gift for my brother. He was so impressed by the massive speed increase hes bought 6.

This SSD made my MacBook Pro run like new. I have MacBook Pro 15 inch mid 2012 and I recently updated the RAM (16gb) and the hard drive (7200rpm to an SSD) and I’m very happy with the results. I paid $1600 for this computer in April 2012 and after these upgrades (a total $235) my computer has never run faster and I feel like it could last another 6 years easily.

This seems like a good choice for when you only have one M2 slot but want lots of EXTRA storage.

Small size. Get an external hdd if you need extra space.

Microsoft keeps nagging me that they plan to abandon the slender, high-performance Windows 7 operating system, so I am reluctantly building another computer to accept the downgrade to their surveillance-loaded, overweight W10 with mandatory advertising and degraded UI.

Call me EVO, 860 EVO.

I bought this SSD to add as a secondary storage drive in my laptop and so far I am very satisfied. Works like a charm. There is little to no delays in accessing the files stored on this drive.
