Headphones are all about sound quality and comfort and in this respect, the Sennheiser HD599 are very good. Excellent audio quality, their light weight, and comfort combine to make a very pleasant listening experience. I also like the detachable cables (of which you receive two; a 1/4 inch jack (plus 3.5 mm adapter) version and a 3.5 mm - 3.5 mm version). The ear cushion pads are covered with velour which is very comfortable... BUT, overall I think the HD 599s are incredibly expensive for what they are;I dont think the materials they are made of (other than the velour) are quite up to the premium you are paying. My current go to headphones are the amazing

These are comfortable BUT the headband has a ridiculous shape compared to the 6 series - instead of following the headshape it it like a bar on top which extends much further than it should and looks totally atrocious.

Son magnifique, très détaillé sans être apathique. Il offre l’impression d’être dans la salle de concert, bonne image musicale et spatialisation du son agréable. Le son reste doux, jamais agressif bien que les aiguës soient très détaillés. Les basses sont là sans empiéter sur les médiums qui demeurent clairs et distincts. Très bon son. Leger et agréable a porter, se laisse oublier. Très bon casque aussi bien pour la musique classique (au top) que pour du blues, du jazz mais aussi du rock...très bon casque polyvalent donc, que je recommande sans hésitation à tous ceux qui cherchent du bon son (oubliez le mp3...) !

Una verdadera gozada me encantan puedo decir que están mejor que los AKG 240 y los ATH M50X los, la calidad de sonido es muy buena , ten encuentra que son abiertos por lo que no están hechos para transportarlos sino para escucha en casa me encantaron, tal ves la única cosa mala es que son todo de plástico pero cuando te los pones con un buen DAC todo se te olvida, para juegos es excelentes la escena sonora es inmejorable

Excellent sound quality and sound stage.

This headphone knows what to do when you put it through something. Beyond being open back is still tuned with bass which is still punchy where it belongs and thats what you really have to look for.

Excellent product highly recommended, the padding inside where it rests on ones head SHOULD ALWAYS BE REINFORCED with very hard, material, because, this is where major WEAR and TEAR exists, this one is very good

Scored a pair of Sennheiser HD599s used like new for $170. Same price I paid for my HD598s but a much more pleasing headphone for my ears.
