SENNHEISER HD 660 S - HiRes Audiophile Open Back Headphone

I received the Headphones in a damaged box, it looked as if they had been previously returned by another Customer.

A lot of people tend to criticize these headphones or even compare them to the 650 but IMO there is no comparison. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I love Sennheisers studio headphones but all the negativity behind these made me reluctant. Well dont be, these cans are absolute awesome and so easy to EQ as per your tastes.

I bought these for gaming and they sound great with my GSX 1200!

Ive been using these with a portable DAC and Ive had nothing but pure pleasure. Just so... Yeah Im all out of adjectives. 500 is a lot. But for me worth every penny!

I bought these to round out a podcasting system (mic boom, mic and new headphones). The headphones sound great! But, what I discovered, after plugging into a mic that also has an amplifier built in, was that the stock sound out of my computer only used about 80% of the capacity of these headphones. So, if youre purchasing these as a stand alone headphone set with a separate amplifier, theyll still sound great, but not as good as they are capable of sounding.

Ive been using the ATH M50Xs for years now and have loved them immensely however I realized they didnt handle FLAC files properly and made them sound really congested. Wanted a headphones that could reproduce the sound without that congested feel and holy hell the HD660s does just that.

Expensive and worth it. Im audiophile of several decades. Ive tested many headphones over this time. These rank with the best. Fit and finish is first class as youd expect. These cans fit tight at first but adjust over time for a good comfortable fit. If you value the fact that headphones should reproduce musical performance as close to the intent of the original source producer you will not be disappointed. These cans are about as dynamically neutral and fully balanced as you can get at this price point. The soundstage is wide and the nuance of finally orchestrated music is intense. These cans will accentuate the best sonic qualities of source material as well as bring out the warts. If you listen to compressed music, i.e., iTunes, Spotify, etc, you are wasting your money here. Lesser cans will suffice. If you listen to music through DACs, still listen to CDs, or subscribe to high def streaming services like Tidal you will rejoice at what these cans do for your ears.
