I tried this model, the HD 6XX and the HD 600. For some reason, the sound signature seemed to be more focused on treble and clarity while the other two models seemed to have a more neutral sound but I’m not a audiophile so don’t quote me. I returned these and just stayed with the HD 600 which seems the be the right sound signature for me when gaming and listening to music. If you enjoy the sound then it may be great but everyone has different taste so buy with confidence if there is a return window as well.

SENNHEISER doing the nice job on over ear headphone, very enjoyable sound for long time listening. I like open back over-ear headphone for home use and in-ear headphone for outgoing now.

I had an HD600 but the band is so loose it slides off my head. This one is so tight it may require a little streatching. What kills me is this design came out about 20 years ago. They couldnt throw in some lithium batteries on the top of the headband and use Wifi 6e or BT 5.1 and make a wireless version?

The two brands/models I was most interested in for the price were these and the Grado sr325x so i will be comparing these.

The reviews from many others have covered basically all the great points of this headphone. I will not repeat them. However, the description says Did you know? The HD 660 S is designed and engineered in Germany, then manufactured to exacting standards in Sennheiser’s Tulamore, Ireland factory, yet the packaging says Made in Romania. I have nothing against Romania, but I absolute hate false claims.

So far the music ive listened to just keeps getting better and better as i keep listening. As a bass head I only have the FIIO EK10 DAC/AMP as of right now but will be upgrading this coming week. Its decent but does not get as loud as i want it to. I cant wait to see what these headphones can really do with a good setup and will be updating my review in the future when they are also more broken in. The sound is crisp its something like I have never experienced before, the bass is smooth but not overbearing, and the vocals are perfectly balanced and so far I have had zero issues with the headphones. I enjoy the longer cable it comes with but I tend to roll over it with my chair. I wish it included a shorter one with a 3.5mm jack for the price but like I said ill probably be buying some upgrades soon. If you find the right song then these things will literally ROCK YOUR WORLD. Hope I could answer any uneasy questions but these things are literally an investment that i believe are already worth it and I only have been able to listen to music for a day straight with them for i got them yesterday.

I love these headphones. sound very clear and crisp. vocal is very close as if the singer is singing right next to me. I also like that it has relatively low impedance (150ohms) compared to HD600 or HD6XXs 300ohm impedance. an amp is a plus but you dont have to have it. its loud enough when directly connected to a mobile device or your PC. I also own HD6XX for that one I definitely need an amp.

I have listened to a lot of headphones in my lifetime and these are surely up there. Paired with a red dragon fly, its VERY hard to tell the difference between this and an HD 800s. At first I thought they were a little flat in the mid region, but these seriously need an amp. I know they are low impedance and for portable devices, but an amp really opens them up. Similar to the Hd600s but they have been tuned with more low end. The red dragonfly opens up the soundstage tremendously. Its pretty wide without it, but with it, its 800s territory. These are my at work and home headphones and the Audeze isine 10 are my portable. Great headphones......
