Greater than one weekThe only negative is the battery quit before I could get through my whole house, so I am ordering a second battery to keep charged in reserve. In terms of suction power and maneuverability, this machine beats my Dyson stick vac times ten! It picks up bird seed under the Canary cage (and all the larger bits that the Dyson would spit out) with great ease. I vacuumed under the beds and furniture with ease - theres a lot of dust hiding under there. It picks up a TON of dust that other machines have left behind. Im glad I ordered this.

> 3 dayOk, first the good. This vacuum is very good at what it does. Its great at getting up pet hair and normal messes. The suction is better than on the previous cordless and the cup is larger. Thats always a bonus. The cup detaches completely, so you can clean it with no fear of getting water in the motor. Now, the not so good. Its loud. Someone was using it and I thought someone was weedeating. Second, on the previous model, you could press a lever with your foot to use it without the head, for small places. This one you have to stop, pick up the vacuum and press a button to release the head. If you have a lot of vacuuming, you dont want to take the extra time to do this. In this case, the old model was better. Third, the new model folds up like the old model, which I like. Unfortunately, the new model no longer has a handle to carry it by. I miss this as I move around a lot, going from room to room. Fourth, the price has gone up on these considerably. I always liked that these were very affordable, and I told a lot of people to try these instead of the more expensive brands. These are quickly becoming one of the expensive brands. I hope Shark goes back to being the reasonably priced brand that the low to average income families can afford.

Greater than one weekOne of the best purchases I ever made! Wasn’t sure I needed the feature where the handle flattens out so you can go under things easily or the LED lights but I love both! I love the way the vacuum head is much smaller than a traditional vacuum because between that and being able to easily lay the handle flat you can get under just about anything! No more dust under the kitchen chairs. I can get all the way to the wall. No more broom and dustpan for sweeping the kitchen floor every night! The one thing I wondered about is how well does it edge? It does a great job! Love the roller brush. No more spitting things out. It also picks up larger pieces of things easily. My old vac I would have to stop and use the hose because my old vac just pushed it around. This one picks it right up. I did decide to get an extra battery just in case I ever need it. I vacuum my 1,500 square feet apartment and have never run out of battery. I really haven’t seen a negative yet. In my opinion. The extra features really are worth spending the extra money. I am so pleased with my purchase!

> 3 daySaw a test including this Shark Vertex on the Project Farm youtube channel under the best cordless vacuum video (great channel for product tests) and liked it best for our needs (hardwood, some carpet, lots of stairs). I love how modular it is. Im in awe in how little hair ends up in the roller. Have only had one clog to get out of it in about 4 months of use (compared to our old stick vac). Would purchase again for sure!

> 3 dayPro: Battery life is long enough to vac 14ft X 70ft (980 square feet) moble home. It takes up little space to store in a closet. I vacuum every few weeks and owed vac for 6 months. The inner filter looks brand new! The prep filters absorbs just about everything. I keep my dog trimmed. The vac picks up all trimmed hair. (Sorry I cant evaluate long matted pet hair due to shedding in carpets and sofas.) The power burst feature is a smart idea. It will pick small debris that regular setting missses. You pull a trigger to increase and decrease suction as needed. Battery can be detached and charged separately from unit. You can purchase extra batteries and have them changed in advance of use. It comes with the normal frequently used attachments. You can purchase other attachments separately from shark. Lights do help in darker spaces. The canister is larger than most stick vacs, but I do have to empty during a single use. I didnt buy this as a supplemental vac to an upright. I bought this instead of an upright. Con: The hardwood floor feature is useless. It doesnt pick up hardly anything. Use the carpet setting on hardwood and you will be fine. Paying $50 more to get 10 mins of extra run time is stupid. Buy and extra battery for $63. The attachments and stick are D shapped. If you want more attachments, you are basically forced to buy from shark due to shape. There is less suction than a normal upright, but to be fair it is good enough.

> 3 dayI was worried this wouldnt have as much suction as my old Kenmore canister. Was I surprised to find it had more! It handles everything I throw at it. We moved to a home with hardwood floors and the old canister wasnt a good fit, the bristles would have scratched the floor. The floor setting is a soft roller that gently propels the dirt into the dust collection chamber. It has a microburst trigger on the handle that you can pull to get an extra power burst to suck up hard to reach places. It is a bit top heavy, so i can see where someone with mobility issues might struggle but i dont mind as that is why the motor is so powerful. Also the swivel range of the vacuum head is great! I am very pleased with this purchase.

22-11-2024The, Shark Vertex Ultra Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum is not a replacement for my Shark Vertex with the cord. The Vertex with the cord will do a much better job than the cordless. For me, its more about getting the stairs as well as hard to reach places. Above my head and underneath the bed. Overall, I happy with this purchase. Have a nice day.
