I have a mobility problem and tend to pretty much live in my recliner. The result of this is a zone of ick around the chair. This item really SUCKS crap off the floor, and is light enough for me to use.

I am in love with this vacuum. I have a 2,000 square foot home that is all hardwood and tile with a few rugs here and there. I was able to vacuum my whole house before this vacuum died. Not to mention it got so much hair up out of my rugs that I didn’t realize my other vacuums were missing. It has so much power and does so well on all the different flooring of my house! The only downside would be the canister size however if you don’t have pets, this should not be an issue for you!

I was worried this wouldnt have as much suction as my old Kenmore canister. Was I surprised to find it had more! It handles everything I throw at it. We moved to a home with hardwood floors and the old canister wasnt a good fit, the bristles would have scratched the floor. The floor setting is a soft roller that gently propels the dirt into the dust collection chamber. It has a microburst trigger on the handle that you can pull to get an extra power burst to suck up hard to reach places. It is a bit top heavy, so i can see where someone with mobility issues might struggle but i dont mind as that is why the motor is so powerful. Also the swivel range of the vacuum head is great! I am very pleased with this purchase.

This as got to be the best money spent in a long time! Even my 28 year old daughter agrees with me, she uses more than I do and she tells me almost every time she uses it that it was money well spent. She even shows me something new she finds out about it every time too lol! Like the button she found on how to take the canister off to empty it with taking the whole top of the vacuum off, and how to remove the head of the vacuum, it’s a new toy we get to play with every time we vacuum, and it’s like we love to vacuum now, I mean we have dogs so you know they shed a lot and now we look for their fur on the floor - no seriously we do and we’re like…”Oh look we need to vacuum there’s fur on the floor!” or “ Hey ya know I happen to think I haven’t vacuumed behind the range or the fridge in like forever OR my closet!!” Seriously we have gone crazy with this thing! When I say we love, I mean WE LOVE IT! Oh and I almost to mention…the batteries - they seem to do really well at keeping up with us. I mean my daughter said she will vacuum the kitchen and the living room and hallway and still have battery life to spare, and remember we’re chasing a lot of fuz and fur here so that’s a plus to us!! The only thing is it is a little on the heavy side, I mean it’s not crazy heavy but after vacuuming for a few minutes it starts to get a little heavy.

I purchased the Shark IZ462H Vertex Ultra Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum about 2 weeks ago. I did a lot of research on cordless vacuums and I chose the Shark because of its generally good reviews, and an in-depth review by an evaluator who used the vacuum for multiple days who gave it high marks. I am very pleased with the vacuum because it’s does what I need but there are limitations (this won’t replace my Dyson Animal, but I hope to use that far less). For me, my primary interest is to use the Shark daily on one floor of the house to tidy up the loose hair from our five short hair dogs. It does this wonderfully. Easy to use, light, no cord, gets under furniture, not at all bulky like the Dyson, runs for at least 30 minutes using the normal setting, and does an excellent job in capturing the hair and other dirt particles. We have no carpet in the house except for runners. The vacuum does well on the carpet as well but the vacuum head setting for carpet uses more power (there are two settings; one for hard floors and one for carpet). I am not sure I would rely on the Shark if I had a lot of carpet because I suspect the useful battery time would diminish. However, one could buy another battery (they change out quickly) to make the vacuum more useful. The vacuum also has attachments which are useful but somewhat limited in that the brush attachment doesn’t have a 360 adjustment like other vacuums. The vacuum is easy to empty but it doesn’t hold a tremendous amount of dirt but it is adequate. I will take the ease of handling and lighter weight over a larger dirt capacity of a heavier and bulkier vacuum. One feature I really appreciate with this Shark is the ability to release a pivot hinge in the middle of the vacuum main tube in order to get under furniture easily. This is a super feature and works extremely well. This alone is almost worth the price of the vacuum. The vacuum also has a boost setting that increases the amount of vacuum provided but I haven’t used it much except to try it to see what it provides. One last point, a major and well respected independent non-profit product review organization would not make any recommendations for cordless vacuums due to their limitations and uncertain reliability. The Shark comes with a five year limited guarantee and I purchased an additional guarantee from Amazon to supplement the manufacturers guarantee. So, hopefully[p] I am covered if the Shark dies a premature death. In summary I give the Shark 5 stars because it meets my need and I think it does exactly what it is designed to do at a reasonable price.

Saw a test including this Shark Vertex on the Project Farm youtube channel under the best cordless vacuum video (great channel for product tests) and liked it best for our needs (hardwood, some carpet, lots of stairs). I love how modular it is. Im in awe in how little hair ends up in the roller. Have only had one clog to get out of it in about 4 months of use (compared to our old stick vac). Would purchase again for sure!

This is my first cordless and so far it’s great! Takes some patience learning how to set up and clean. A little more expensive than I expected but I’ve been waiting for the chance to get a hair free roller and a longer run battery and this beauty delivers.

Skip to bottom for breakdown on pros and cons. Overall good suctions. Just misleading on some things like battery life and bristles. So that’s why I’m only giving it 4 stars since it’s a nearly $300 vacuum. Suction seems overall really good as of now, but does have bristles (that was a big thing for me for the hardwood floors), and battery life only runs for around 20 minutes when using it as a vacuum, it only lasts (via the manual) for 40 minutes when using it handheld. UPDATE: I vacuumed my whole house (all hardwoods & is roughly 1500 sq ft) without the battery dying. So that definitely was a good thing. Satisfied with that! Also hook your crevice tool, or other tools to the part that attaches to the head, and Bam you have a long crevice tool that can get pretty much anywhere! I received the vacuum today, and I will update review as I go if I need to. First impression was the box was simple. Looked very generic, and I wished it had an actual name instead of just model number. I also thought it would only have powerfins and no bristles since that’s how it’s pictured and advertised. IT HAS BRISTLES. They feel soft, and I’m watching how they do on my LVP flooring but that’s very misleading because I thought it was going to be just a soft silicone fin. I’m scared it’s going to scratch my flooring. It’s overall very light, and nice sleek look to it. I used it as soon as I got it for about 10 minutes on the LVP flooring I have. It sucked up pet hair and dirt that I couldn’t even see. Worked great. I’m very satisfied with the suction so far. I did plug it in to charge after it died (before the initial charge), and it has now been 2 hours and it still isn’t fully charged. I do wish it had quicker charging. So I decided to glance through the manual to make sure I’m doing everything right. In the manual, it states with hand vac it works for up to 40 minutes, but only 25 mins on bare floor, and only 20 mins during carpet mode. If you’re using the boost (it has a boost button which is nice) vac with handheld it only works for 10 minutes on a full battery. So I would say it would only last in boost mode for about 12 minutes on bare floors, and probably less on carpet since it’s half the time almost from the hand vac times. I do wished the battery life was longer, and it’s misleading when it says the vacuum lasts around 40 minutes on a full battery. I knew it wouldn’t always last 40 minutes with different modes and flooring, but I didn’t think using the actual vacuum in standard mode on hardwoods would cut that time in almost half, to 25 minutes. Disappointed in that. I do like the design, the boost button (hate how much time it cuts off the run time before the battery dies), and I think it does a good job overall with suction this far. I also love the LED lights. I think it’s a pretty good vacuum. Wished it would come with two batteries so you could charge one and have a backup. I have an almost 1500 square foot house with all LVP flooring & a dog that sheds. So I will definitely be testing this out over the next days to get accurate timing myself. Breakdown is — Pros: 1. The style/design is sleek 2. Easy empty container 3. Boost mode button 4. Powerfins (it does have bristles though. Pics are misleading) 5. Good suction this far 6. LED lights 7. Can change battery out (only comes with 1 though) 8. Pretty easy and convenient storage Cons: 1. Battery life (states 40 mins but that’s for hand vac, only 25 mins for bare floor and 20 carpets) 2. Charging time — it’s been over 2 hours and it still isn’t fully charged. 3. Has bristles, does have powerfins — but pictures makes it look like it doesn’t have bristles and only has powerfins. It has both. This was one of the main reasonings I ordered this one was because I felt like it was safer on my flooring. 4. No “name” — just a model number. And the packaging looks generic. Not like an almost $300 vacuum. Came in a cardboard box, with the vacuum inside a plain white box.

I have a powered Shark and I love it. This cordless model is ok. I don’t get the hype with these cordless vacuums… It does pick up ok on the Med speed but I find it misses some stuff that my powered Shark would not. I find I have to use the high power to get it to pick it up (and that drains the battery VERY fast). I don’t like the feel off the vacuum. It doesn’t run smoothly (I suspect it’s the fins underneath causing this). I have to make sure to vacuum in certain directions to get the vacuum to work best. Also after vacuuming my carpet, it just doesn’t look vacuumed. I am used to seeing vacuum lines in my carpet and there is none. Those lines imo meant the suction was good. I NEVER see vacuum lines after using this cordless vacuum. It does pick up stuff because I do have to empty the bin- but I just don’t think these cordless vacuums do as good a job as a plug in vacuum. It’s a shame as I like the portability, the lightness and compactness of the vacuum. I think it would work better on tile/wood floors. Now let’s talk about the battery charge… a HUGE selling point for me was the addition of a second battery and the ability to remove it to charge. I would NEVER recommend anyone not having a second battery when purchasing ANY cordless vacuum. The battery runs out pretty quick esp if you use the highest power setting. That setting really should only be used once in a while as it drains the battery VERY quickly. I use the med setting only (low setting is a waste of time imo) and occasionally the high. I use a battery and a 1/2 for about 1200 Sq foot. If I only had 1 battery I would have to wait 2-3 hours for it to recharge to finish my home. The things I like about this vacuum was the attachments, extra battery, method of charging and how compact it is. I also like that I can vacuum under my couch because of how compact it is. This vacuum can also be used as a hand held- because of the attachments it can be used to vacuum ur car (if you live where there is no power outlet access, like and apartment, this will be great). The thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t stand up on its own when the battery is on which can be annoying. I kept the vacuum but will still hang on to my powered vacuum. I was really hoping to replace my larger plug in vacuum with this. Just one more thing to take up space….
